Happy Monday. Thank you so much for your kindness yesterday. I love the photos, too scrappintoee. This is going to continue until I get fixed. Welcome to my world. Possible 1st surgery on the 19th, but my pain management doc is trying to see if he can get a GI surgeon who can work w/him and combine surgery into one big process. First thing tmw I'll be reaching out to him. Tonight dinner is Chinese chicken salad.
What's on your menu?
Marina, how is your puppy? ((((hugs)))).
Wishing everyone a great day w/happy things, smiles, and a fantastic week, too.

I'm trying to get back on track with cooking after a couple back to back weekend trips and the 4th holiday. I put a roast in the crockpot and will add potatoes and carrots to make it more of a stew. Yes it's suppose to be 90 today, but we have central air and everyone is ready for a more hardy type meal.

For some reason, I didn't sleep so well last night, and I woke up feeling rather groggy. I forced myself out for a walk - a real positive of my apple watch; I don't want to break my exercise streak which is now 43 days! - and I must admit that I felt a lot better afterwards. Apart from that, I only had to go out to drop a few prescriptions at the pharmacy, but that is only a 5 minute walk away. Since then, knitting and tennis on TV.
Dinner tonight will be steak on the grill, with orzo pasta salad and maybe also caprese salad. We have heaps of lovely fresh basil to use up.

We didn't hear any fireworks last night but neighboring towns had related fires. People are such idiots! Tonight I'm going to fix Country Style Pork Ribs in the air fryer. Got a smoking hot deal at Safeway and saved $11! Happy extended 4th of July to the US Peas!

sueg , I'm glad that you felt better after your walk. Good for you for walking so consistently.
cadoodlebug, yds was dog sitting overnight for his roommate's aunt. We've never had a dog, so it will be interesting to see how doggie did w/the fireworks. I can't wait to hear from yds and see how doggie sitting is going.

scrapmaven I wish I could just reach through the screen and give you a 20 second hug. You need a full 20 seconds to reap the maximum benefits. Maybe you could just pull that shawl around you and consider it the best hug I can do for now. Marina I am wanting to hear how your pup is doing. I hope everything is ok. Do I have to eat today? Can't I just live on some of thousands of calories I ingested yesterday? I ate way too much yesterday. I stayed out past 1 am too and then slept until 9:30 this morning! That is craziness from someone who is in bed by 9pm and up at 5 am everyday. But I didn't drink so I feel pretty good today. No complaints. Day off work. I am just trying to get motivated for a shower. But really my plan is to crochet for the rest of the day. Although I did receive my travel scrapbook kit on Saturday and part of me wants to play with that today instead. Ha! I'm crafty bipolar. So I don't know what I want to do. Ok so you know how I wanted someone to read The Gifts of Imperfection with me so we could discuss it and the podcasts. Well I couldn't get any takers. So my sister was like, yeah I'll read it. She is like stunned reading it. You know from my posts on this board that my sister is very much a perfectionist and type A personality. Well apparently this book is just rocking her entire world. I'm so glad she decided to do it with me. Because if anyone needed the book, it was her. And don't get me wrong, I think the book is good for any woman who is at the mid-life stage. Including me. But I'm glad my sister is reading it. Tonight's dinner will be? I dunno. Will figure it out later. Maybe just a sandwich.

It’s a quiet morning and I am grateful for it. The dogs had a rough night last night. I’ve never heard anything like the fireworks that are here! I walked outside to the water and it felt like I was in a war movie. There were at least three fires I saw on the community Facebook page - and I heard the sirens for two of them. Even though the dogs were scared it went a lot better than I feared. I had bought a thunder shirt for the one that gets super scared and it definitely helped her. She kept running to his in “safe” spots (kept jumping in the tub!) but she wasn’t shaking like a leaf as she has in the past. Dinner tonight is probably leftovers because we have a lot of things that need to get eaten! I’m going shopping today because I need a couple things for a trip I have coming up! My first plane trip since… I can’t even remember anymore!

Really enjoying a peaceful, do-nothing, day at home. Yes, I have the summer off work, but there always seems to be something to do and somewhere to be everyday. My real happy place is being home all day, with no major obligations. leannec is just starting her summer, but I feel like my summer is almost gone. I go back to school August 1st! I'm reading and doing some laundry now, and will work on some birthday cards later this afternoon. If I don't make all my birthday cards at the beginning of the month, time slips up on me and then I'm scrambling to get them made. Dinner last night was so simple, but DH raved about it and wants the exact same again: grilled corn on the cob, hot dogs, watermelon and peaches. Love you scrapmaven and hoping you can get all your surgeries and doctors lined up quickly.

jeremysgirl , your shawl is a constant hug. I'm glad that your sister read the book. Maybe that will help her to judge less and be more open to you. I'm considering ordering Atomic Habits for dh, due to your posts about it. I think he would really benefit from it. Of course, I would read it, too. Enjoy your day. You can scrap for a bit and crochet, too. You get to do both.
Thank you tuesdaysgone. You know that you're very special to me.

scrapmaven Atomic Habits was a good book. I think anyone could read it and take something from it. I might download Rage Becomes Her today. I've had two people recommend it to me. I think because I'm a big softie and let most things roll by me, people think I need to be a bit more firm? Aggressive? Bold? Who knows. I am part hippy.

jeremysgirl, there's nothing wrong w/being part hippie. You'll live longer if you don't stress over every little thing and letting things roll off of your back is quite healthy.

Today is travel for infusion day so will probably grab something along the way later and just nibble later at home for late dinner.
My DS is headed to spend day with my eldest in same town I am getting infused. I most often stop there to drop something or at least a quick hello. Today I think I'll not and let them be with their "sibling time". They both have the day off and chose to spend together.❤️

I'm in the chair now. I think the worst part will be getting up and going afterwards. I didn't get enough sleep last night making the feet up, head back position a bit too comfortable. I'm sucked in, officially. Lol

It is a fend for yourself day here with burgers, hot dogs, lamb and salads that need to be cleaned out of the fridge.
A friend dropped by with a massive head of lettuce and a few other goodies from his garden so I might make a salad or more likely will leave that for tomorrow.

Hi Everyone, I am sorry that I have been MIA. I have been really busy trying to get ready for a bathroom remodel that is starting this Thursday. I’ve been running YDS to the pool and to his friends houses and back-and-forth. My little neighbor has needed me; so I have been helping her. I have been going to PT and doing my exercises. Also my DH has been staying up really late and then I don’t sleep much at night. I have been on dog duty for 2 weeks, so when he needs to go out several times in the middle of the night; it’s been me letting him out. So I finally hit the wall. And I have needed to take a long nap every day for the last week and then that probably put me further behind on getting stuff organized and rooms cleared. I still have to go back and read threads from last week. One day I got on and wanted to start reading the thread and then I saw there were 73 responses and 3 full pages and I just didn’t have the time. Our weather here has been absolutely crazy. It’s either been really hot and humid to where you feel sick or pouring so hard you can’t even see outside. Today, I have to go with ODS to a doctor appointment. Tonight we are having Philly cheesesteaks and salad for dinner. scrapmaven Sending many healing hugs and prayers to you. I hope both surgeons can work together. PLurker Good luck with your infusion! jeremysgirl I ordered Atomic Habits on audible and I am looking forward to listening to it. cadoodlebug Your meme cracks me up! I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

My mum is having knee replacement surgery this month and I'm her "support person" ... we had to attend an information seminar this morning and she had to have x-rays ... that's three hours that I'll never get back! She did take me for lunch after so I shouldn't complain I'm so full from lunch that I can't even think about dinner ... I'll decide later!

Today we are having toasted nail guns, grilled tape measure, and hash browns in primer. Golly, I just can't wait. And to top it all off, we are also having baked cabinet with a LARGE PIECE OF DAMAGE TO IT - AAUUGGHHHHHH! But we hung with dd and SIL and his family and neighborhood yesterday and there's left over barbecued pork. So, it will certainly be a full meal. GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Thanks for the thread. May the forces of love and adoration from all members of our dinner folk come together to support you, Oh Wise scrapmaven . Goll durn it!

Thank you everyone! Good news is no Parvo and no obstruction. At first the X-ray seemed to indicate an issue but the radiologist said no obstruction more due to inflammation. We were there until 1 am.
Warning TMI:
He had relentless D and vomiting yesterday. They still have to do a fecal test but we cleaned up all the messes outside and couldn’t bring a good sample. So once we get one we will take it to our vet. They did give him anti nausea injection and fluids and meds to take here at home. He’s on chicken and rice and broth for right now. And I will probably add pumpkin.
It took this furry little wonder to make me open my instant pot from 2 years ago. Do the water test and make the massive chicken breasts DH bought. Why did I not do this sooner. It will come in handy for him over these next days and now I need to find some instant pot recipes for us to try. He was quite excited at the smells from the chicken and ate the freshly made jasmine rice and chicken with relish. But the D remains.

He might not weigh enough but that has helped Harper from time to time. The D will probably stay for 24 hours. Glad it's not parvo...

I have some chicken breasts brining and will cook them later. Or maybe I’ll just drain them and hold for tomorrow. I went out for lunch with friends and now I’m full on lobster ravioli with shrimp and veggie cream sauce. YUM! Trouble is, I’m going out for lunch again tomorrow.

Marina ....Ohhh, give that sweet baby many (( hugs )) from me, Meaty, and L'il Guy!!! I'm sure he doesn't feel well, but thank God it's not Parvo!!!! Poor baby--if he needed IV fluids, he must have been sooo dehydrated! I wish I could hug him through my screen !!!! scrapmaven .....I hope that meme of Nurse "Flatulence Mightygale" made ya smile or giggle. Ugh, I hope your doctors can coordinate and GET THIS DONE and you can feel better!!! desertgirl .....ROFL at your dinner of remodeling "delights!" We didn't hear any fireworks last night but neighboring towns had related fires. People are such idiots! That's INFURIATING !!! With allll the fires in California--- how do they NOT care? My fave !!!! Ribs were always my birthday dinner of choice when I was growing up. Now I want ribs! The dogs had a rough night last night. I’ve never heard anything like the fireworks that are here! I walked outside to the water and it felt like I was in a war movie. I'm sorry about your doggies! I HATE that this holiday is so hard on so many animals! I can't bear to read about how many pets run away out of fright! We live just outside the city limits, so they're legal here. People have been setting them off for over a week---okay, fine. But last night----OMG! War zone is right !!! I literally thought there were some in our yard--it was scary!!! Everyone in our neighborhood has 1-2 acres, ---they weren't even that close our yard, but it sounded like it! Meaty is mostly deaf now, or else he would have been afraid like he used to be. This was L'il Guy's first 4th with us, so we wondered how he'd react, but thankfully---he didn't even notice them! lobster ravioli with shrimp and veggie cream sauce. YUM! Wowww.....that sounds SO good!!

It was my dad's 79th birthday, so we went over there for dinner. Instead of having to cook for 16 people, they ordered pizza. My stepmum made chicken wings and sausage rolls as well. I made a lemon meringue pie to take, and I also made a smaller one for DSO and I to share, in case there were no leftovers. I have come down with a terrible cold, so when we were at my dad's house, I sat in the corner away from everyone else, and wore a mask the whole time. It's now 9am Tuesday morning and I really should be logging on for work, but I CBF. Instead I'm sitting in bed Peaing.
