that you can't use online anymore. Is this worth giving to someone? I thought about listing it on a "free" FB page. Is it worth the hassle? I have a Cameo, so never going back to Cricut and it is just gathering dust and dog hair!

I think people are still buying them because not everyone needs to have the latest and greatest. I still have my original Cricut and use it about once or twice a year because I haven't found all the fonts I have to use on my old Silhouette Portrait.
Maybe see if your local elementary or preschool can use it? I know one of the kindergarten teachers in my daughter's school used a Cricut to make bulletin boards and such and needed one after her Cricut died.

I used my old one to make great bulletin boards for years. If you have cartridges, they are very useful.

I gave my old one to a new teacher. She gladly took it off my hands. I also gave her some cartridges that I had linked.

I like my expression because no computer is necessary. Even though I have the Air 2, I still hang on those my old expression for the student workers in my office. They enjoy using the cartridges to decorate bulletin boards, cards, tags for give-aways, etc. I don’t want to give anyone access to my personal laptop in order to use the design software, and we are not allowed to link any devices to our work computers. With the Expression, I don’t have to worry about any of that.

One of my completely non-tech savvy friends still uses my original 12" Cricut and the cartridges. I'm sure you can find someone to take it.

Is this worth giving to someone? I thought about listing it on a "free" FB page. Just make sure they know it is cartridge based only - and there is no way they can hook it up to their computer and use fonts, etc. I think a lot of people still love them, but there can be a lot of confusion about what can be done with them, outside of using a cartridge.

My mom has an original one that nobody wants/needs. I took a peek on Ebay and there were 8 pages of Cricuts - various models and prices.

For portability, you can't beat the original little Cricut. It gets the job done, and it's useful if you don't have a lot of room for the bigger machines.

Dh just came home this weekend with one that he bought for $10 from a yard sale. I don't think he really knew what it was for except something to do with papercrafting! It had the original cartridge and everything needed. I did have an expression I bought used and donated it to my grandson's school because I never used it, but since then there have been times I didn't want to hand crank out multiples of the same die cuts for a project with my trusty Cuttlebug, so this will be my go-to for those types of things.
