I am going to schedule a visit with my dr for some bloodwork, but thought I would ask for other suggestions here.
For about a month I have been extremely tired. I don't feel rested when I wake up, and throughout the day have that overly tired feeling where it is hard to stay awake and it feels like every cell in my body is lethargic and tired. I felt like this several years ago when I was anemic, but at that time I had heavy periods and subsequently had an ablation. So, I am not sure that anemia is a likely reason now. It has also been a fairly busy and stressful month with graduation and four kids in travel baseball. Besides graduation at the beginning of the month this summer has been like most, though. I recently started a supplement that has B vitamins in it to see if that helps but does anyone else have suggestions? Thanks!

The only time I've felt extreme fatigue like that was when I was anemic. My ablation cleared it up, and it hasn't come back. I hope you can get to the bottom of it. Meanwhile, try to get some rest.

Hugs to you. I go through periods like this fairly regularly and coincindentally, am having a heckuva time the last few days. I feel like I just want to close my eyes and sleep. All I'm doing is reclining with my laptop but I dozed off for a bit there. It's really hard for me to figure it out as many foods/pollens/chemicals etc. "wipe me out." I especially struggle with it in spring and autumn when my allergies are really bad.
I have been eating 90-95% WFPB low oil but not taking any vit -B12 because I can't tolerate it, and am wondering if it starting make me feel tired. I'm having a physical in 3 weeks and will ask to have vB12 level tested.
I hope you figure it out soon and are back in top form in no time!

Low magnesium Low vitamin D Acute fatigue syndrome My vitamin D level is low and even taking 5,000 I.U. daily, it is only 33. Any of these could be your culprit.

You probably need a full blood workup to see if anything is off. Could your thyroid be causing this? I take thyroid medication to supplement my thyroid because my natural production is under what it should be. A low thyroid level can show as fatigue.
Is it possible that you have sleep apnea? With apnea, people can sleep for 8 to 10 hours yet still wake up exhausted because the quality of the sleep they are getting is horrible, they just don't know it. If your bloodwork comes back normal, I would look into getting a sleep apnea test.
They have come a long way with these sleep tests. The first one I took had to be in a facility with monitors stuck all over me and I had to spend the night in this office building with someone monitoring my feeds all night. The last sleep test I took was at home with a special watch, an oxygen monitor on my finger, and little nasal tubes. Once you put on the required gear, you just go to sleep in your own bed at home. Then the next morning you simply download the information from the equipment into your computer to send your results to their facility. It was so simple.
I also have fibromyalgia that brings fatigue, sometimes extreme fatigue, with it. I have a prescription medication that my doctor gave me to take on the days that my fatigue is overwhelming and I need to get up and do things. To be honest, when nothing is pressing, I just relax and binge movies and take a nap because I don't want to take the medication too often. I also have a tendency to try taking half of a pill first and waiting an hour. Sometimes the half pill is all I need to get up and get moving.
I think until you have had a physical, you won't have any idea what is causing your fatigue because so many things can cause it.

Over 40 years ago I would get home from work and be so lethargic. Finally went to the doctor and the last test they did showed I had hypothyroidism. Been on medication every since.

You arent getting enough sleep with all of those things going on. Start with the simple solution and work up from there.

I had that when I was anemic had a hysterectomy last summer I felt better but I was still really tired and had my thyroid checked snd I needed meds. My levels were five a few months before surgery. I went on a really low dose and within a week I felt better. Blood tests are simple enough. I hope you get an answer and start to feel better soon.

I don’t know but in addition to a medical workup see if you can get some time alone to really, really rest for 48 hours or more. I've seriously considered checking into a hotel alone for a few days. This working mom is all worked out. If my daughter was doing better mentally I would and I might anyway but I am not sure I could mentally separate. Which is probably a big sign I need to!
I hope they find something simple like you need a b12 shot. Some people don't absorb b12 my grandma had to eat raw liver back in the day.

All of a sudden I wasn't sleeping well, waking up multiple times a night, then wide awake at 4, 5 or 6am. Wanting to nap, falling asleep at 10 am and 2pm maybe again at 5. Then feeling like I was ready for bed at 8 but not sleeping.
I went and got bloodwork done and saliva testing. My cortisol and DHEA are so so low. My progesterone is a bit low. I've been taking stuff for 7 weeks and already feel better. Not 100% but one my way. I'm sleeping better, when I wake I go back to sleep. I might wake up at 6:30 for the day but that's reasonable. I almost never needing a nap.

When my B12 is low I feel this way. I take weekly shots and it takes care of it.

I have an appt for bloodwork Thursday. Thanks for the suggestions...I will talk to the doctor to make sure they check my Vit. D, iron, B12, thyroid.
I haven't been eating the healthiest, but do eat enough. I was exercising regularly until a few months ago when my foot was bothering me a lot and my work schedule changed. Trying to get back into it but when I do exercise I am tired so quickly I can barely get through it.
DH does still snore but my ear plugs work pretty well. I have been sleeping in a little bit more the last week or so but it doesn't seem to help with feeling tired later in the day. For the most part, I think I am sleeping ok at night.

Are you drinking enough water?
When I slack on my water intake, I feel very fatigued, depleted, zero energy, nauseous, an in general >> blah, etc...

For the most part, I think I am sleeping ok at night. Sleeping in makes me feel more tired. I know that makes no sense. A consistent sleep schedule is way more helpful to me. I’ve had everything in this thread tested at one time or another. I don’t necessarily feel exhausted, but I cannot sit still during the day without falling asleep. It’s so annoying. It doesn’t matter what I do. And I don’t always know that I’ve fallen asleep. I’ll be reading and then wake up in the middle of a paragraph. It happens so much if I sit down to read here. It makes finishing a book an extremely long process! But a consistent sleep schedule takes away the sluggish feeling. I feel like crap after sleeping in.

Another thought - have you been tested for sleep apnea? I was extremely fatigued and once I got my Cpap machine I felt much better, and didn't wake up/get up 3-4 times a night anymore.

How much sugar are you eating? How much water are you drinking? Those two things really mess with my feelings of fatigue.

Since you have been anemic in the past, I am betting on that. Even after going through menopause, I still need a daily iron supplement.

Even if you don't have COVID right now, fatigue/exhaustion is one of the symptoms of "long COVID" ... I had a really mild case in November (my whole family did), and I am still extra tired quite often. I've heard that sometimes getting your first vaccination will help resolve long COVID symptoms--I've had both doses and feel generally better, but still more tired that I used to ... I'm blaming it on turning 50, but realistically it's probably some lingering virus effects!

Don’t forget Lymes, particularly if your panel comes back without a culprit.

When you get your thyroid tested I recommend the full panel. Some doctors will just check T4 and that’s not enough.
