I was searching for some stuff from the Pink Paislee Again & Again collection and came across this listing on Etsy and oh man, is it taking me back! Remember back in the day when 12x12 die cut papers were all the rage? And that grunginess! And this is vintage Pink Paislee, before AC bought them! I really loved their lines when they first started. I have loved them since as well but there was definitely a different style to them back then. I particularly loved this one line that I can't remember the name of. I don't think it was an overtly Halloween line (maybe fall?) but I think it had the word "moon" in the name. Anyway, just had to share with fellow papercrafters since anyone else wouldn't get it!

Oh my goodness, I remember those "cut out" 12x12 papers. I never used any. Reminds me of Basic Grey, especially the striped paper!

Didn’t bazzill have shaped cardstock? I still have Bazzill scalloped edge and pinked edge cardstock in my stash! I would buy it and trace it on regular cardstock, to save money I have a piece of Pink Paislee "office hours" line in a section of my stash I call "pretty orphans"...single papers I want to use but don't have coordinating products. The other company who I have original lines that are SO different from their current aesthetic is Crate Paper!

Moonstruck? Although I think PP was with AC at that point?

This is so much fun to see! It really reminds me of the golden era of scrapbooking where my LSS had tons of new stock on a regular basis and there always seemed to be new manufacturers and products to try.
I have hoarded some vintage Pink Paislee and still love it. I need to remind myself to dig deep into my stash and use some old favourites.

I love Moonstruck too, I can't bring myself to use the stuff I have because it's so beautiful! This was an older line that artgirl1 identified as Harvest Moon below.

The other company who I have original lines that are SO different from their current aesthetic is Crate Paper! I totally forgot about the Bazzill cardstock with the specialty edges! Oh man, I think I had some of that too. I remember how I really wanted a manual die cutting machine with a 12" opening so I could give any 12x12 paper a special shape. I think back in those days, the Silhouette Cameo hadn't come out yet (it was just the Silhouette SD which was 8.5x11) and I'm not sure about the Cricut Expression, so if you wanted to cut a full 12x12, you needed one of those huge manual die cutting machines (like the AccuCut). Of course, this was a pipe dream because those huge machines (and the dies) were SO expensive, but a girl could dream! And yes, I remember how different CP was back then! I really loved their Portrait collection (which I think was one of their first collections?). I had some of the papers and the layered chipboard, shown below.

I have a dozen of the Lucky 8 punches that cut out 12 x 12 papers in this and other similar shapes. I also remember buying paper with the shapes so I could trace them.

It seems like there were more choices years ago beyond the fact that there were so many more companies to choose from. Now it seems the vast majority of papers seem like Paige Evans made them. Her lines are beautiful, but I'd like more paper choices that don't involve all of the pink and purple and flowers.

Remember when Crate Paper used to print on textured paper? I still have a fair bit of some lines that weren't my style, but no way will I let it go because it's so unique compared to today's papers. papers seem like Paige Evans made them. Her lines are beautiful, but I'd like more paper choices that don't involve all of the pink and purple and flowers. Yes, absolutely. I am lucky that I love today's papers of bright colours and rainbows. But I so miss the variety. I *never* liked graphic 45 - that's not the vibe I'm talking about. I'm thinking the original crate paper/pink paislee/chatterbox vibe. I have been eyeing 49 and Market and their vintage artistry lines and think I will dive in there, see if they work for me. I like several of the P13 lines but don't like that shiny finish. Paper Rose isn't *quite* my taste. So I guess there are still other choices out there if you look for the smaller companies and are willing to pay a bit more.

I liked the 8x8 shapes more than the 12x12, but it was definitely a trend that grew out of the curly brackets phase. “Pretty orphans” - I like that way of describing my one sheets. I used and still have original CP - it felt like the Basic Grey textures without all the sepia aging that didn’t fit my pictures. I used every scrap of pink plum. Who was designing for CP then?
