If you are Santa's helper and help fill the stockings, do you also buy things to put in your own stocking? I haven't before, but I'm thinking of doing it this year.

No, which now that my kids are grown and still expect a stocking with all the goodies, no one has ever bothered to do one for me (except my sister one year she put all my gifts into one that she decorated for me). It's definitely depressing. I stopped doing one for my BF, if he can't go pick up a couple small things to do one for me why should I for him. It isn't rocket science not to mention he could ask my DD or sister for ideas.

I make sure everyone has stocking stuffers, but some years I hardly have any, depending on if anyone else buys them too. That's why I'm considering getting some for myself this year, but it feels funny buying them for myself.

I did when my son was a believer. I don't now. I usually do stockings for all my nieces, nephew and my dad too,but I'm cutting back this year and only doing my sons. My one nephew is going to be overseas, my sister will have moved down south by then, and the 2 remaining nieces are grown up now.
Much easier for me only doing my sons!

Oh yeah, I do! But I have to admit, it is hard to wait until Christmas for my stocking goodies!

No I don't. I usually type up a super long list of all kinds of ideas for my husband, so heck I might as well .

I do. The first time I didn't give myself gifts from Santa my daughters cried. My older two, they were probably 6 and 4. They just couldn't understand why Santa didn't bring me anything. I wasn't bad. I was the 'bestest' mom ever.

Not usually, but this year I am. Why shouldn't I get to have some fun too! I fill everyones stockings, so I am picking up stuff for mine too.

At the beginning of my marriage I did. It got old really quick. I decided if I had to buy it for myself I'm using it NOW, forget waiting for Christmas! Lol! Fortunately my husband got with the gift giving program and after issuing direct orders with a detailed list of acceptable items and ideas he has since taken over that one duty with our sons. He has steadily gotten better at gift giving each year, not just at Christmas time. He wasn't raised in the best circumstances so this has been a new learning experience for him. Giving and receiving gifts were a luxury his family couldn't afford. The best part is he gets time with our sons and is teaching them how to give.

I do. The years my mother is with us (every other), she fills mine and I do hers.

Yes, I do! The stocking stuffings are the fun stuff. My DH gets me a gift for the under the tree, but no way am I letting him have the fun of stocking-filling. And I'm a WAY better giver than he is!

I did this year because I found some things at Marshall's that I couldn't pass up...I gave them to DH to put in my stocking.

While technically my husband is responsible for my stocking, I always pick up a trinket or two for myself while I'm buying for everyone else.

Yes - I do all the stockings. They are mostly candy, gift cards, chap sticks, stuff like that these days.

DH does my stocking. But he'll go to Lowe's or Best Buy looking for stocking stuffers for ME, and then complain that he can't find anything!!

I do. It started primarily when DS was little and I wanted there to be something in my Christmas stocking from "Santa". It continued when others started having Christmas morning with us so that "no one" could claim knowledge of some items so it was intended to continue the illusion of "Santa". I don't do mine as much as I do others' -- because they now participate in the stocking stuffing!

Yes, I fill my own stocking. We don't do much. Usually an orange and some candy for everyone.

I usually find a few things to add to it but DH is good about filling my stocking. That's one tradition that we do for each other. We also buy each other an ornament every year. He knows that the stocking and gifts are important to me so he really tries. He doesn't always get it right but that's okay at least he tries.

Always! We all get things like iTunes cards, and other small gifts so if I'm buying it for DH and DD and it's something I want I buy for myself. DH always gets me stuff too, so usually all 3 of our stockings are overflowing. I was just looking at boot socks today for DD and figured I'd get myself a pair for both of our stockings.

I never have. DH does a great job, so I don't need to. If I buy myself something before Christmas, I treat it like a regular purchase. No need to put it in my stocking.

Only if I want something in it. But yes, I h.ave since the kids were little, to save their faith in Santa. And it's fun.

Nope. DH and I have empty (or tissue paper filled) stockings every year. We've always just told the kids that we don't need or want anything so we ask Santa to give our stuff to someone else would needs it more. They've never questioned us about it.

DH usually picks up some candy and B&BW stuff for my stocking, but I make sure to top it off with some scrappy stuff too.
