Cutting white smooth cardstock from Recollections.
What settings do you use? Some parts are tearing. I'm cutting a butterfly and there is some detail. Do you use the offset feature?

I also use smooth cardstock, but found this useful for the other suggestions (segment overcut, etc) on getting clean cuts with more detailed designs.

Try Silhouette School. She has a lot of great tips.
For me, realizing that a deeper cut on the blade was actually the opposite of what was effective. It works better to do a second pass vs one deep cut. Slow your speed down as well. The blade won’t drag through the paper as much. Also, you need a somewhat sticky mat to get sharp cuts. You don’t want the paper to move.

The offset feature will change the cut file (either make it bigger or smaller, depending on if you do internal/external offset), so I don't think that's what you're looking for.
Can I ask what kind of smooth white cardstock you're using? Is it thick or thin?
My best tips for cutting intricate designs on paper: 1) Slow down the speed, to about 2-4 2) Use a fresh mat (this was a tip I picked up from Silhouette School, it's usually more effective than a new blade) 3) Turn on the line segment overcut 4) Double cut for thicker cardstock
And finally...realize that paper is paper and won't cut like vinyl does, especially if you make the original design smaller than its original size. I find that the Silhouette store features a lot of intricate designs that are geared more toward vinyl. Vinyl doesn't have the same "drag" that paper does, so you can do way more intricate designs without issue.

Girl, if you find a tutor/boss/whatever, send me their info. I still cant scan and cut. I'm not sure if this is your issue with scan and cut/PixScan, but I am terrible at tracing (I just don't "get" all the filters, etc), so when I tried taking a picture of my PixScan mat and tracing, I found that my traces were not clean at all. The workaround I've come up with is to scan the design (stamp or paper), trace the scan, then take a picture of the PixScan mat and then place my "clean" outline/trace over the image of the PixScan mat. This way, all I'm doing is positioning the cut, not tracing it. I find that my scan is so much easier to trace. Just thought I'd mention it if it helps.

3) Turn on the line segment overcut That's what I meant. Line segment overcut. Thank you. That will definitely improve my search results, lol.

I have the Cameo 2 -- for the Recollections card stock I use the original setting of cardstock, plain - but then adjust to pressure between 16 - 18, speed (depends on how intricate the cut might be) between 4 - 8, overcoat ON and I will check the cut before I unload. I'm perfectly willing to cut it again. Sometimes, if the cut is delicate - I lower the speed, lower the pressure, keep Overcut ON, and automatically double cut. But - as a rule, Recollections - the regular 65# paper - cuts well for me.
OH - I also use a CB09 blade.
