Just saw that the rate for first class mail in the USA is increasing from 55 cents to 58 cents August 29 2021! Get your forever stamps now!

Yup, and international stamps will increase to $1.30. I understand that for a letter... but I wish international postcard rates weren't the same. They used to be cheaper! I use them all the time for Postcrossing so will have to note the date in my planner.

Thanks for the reminder. Being a big Baltimore Ravens fan I had to get a few sheets of the Raven Story and picked up a couple of Christmas sheets too.

If you have a "philately store" near you, you can sometimes find stamps for less than face value. The stamps are center parts of a sheet of stamps that are less collectable. Today I went to the stamp collector store and paid $15.40 for 40 forever stamps issued in 2017, the rate was 49¢, my cost was 38.5¢.

Do you decorate postcards or buy them? I’d love to hear more, or if this is too OT, on a different thread. It reminds me of a million years ago when my brother was a ham radio operator. He’d talk to people all over the world, and afterwards they’d send each other postcards. They all had pre-printed postcards with their call letters in large fonts.

That’s a big jump for the international. I knew the domestic was going up and just went to Costco today to get stamps for the Christmas card exchange. Now I need to remember to order some for the international Refupeas birthday and Christmas cards.

Grab yourself some of the round global stamps now though. They’re forever stamps too so if you stock up you can keep paying the current rate for a while longer, or even a lot longer if you can afford to really stock up. They have regular and Christmas ones online and the shipping cost is low. International rates haven’t increased for a few years -in fact I believe they went down last time they changed (if I remember correctly) so a 10% increase isn’t surprising.

Thanks for the heads up. I need to mail a package, and I would not normally get more forever stamps, but now I will.

Oh I've been a Postcrosser for nearly 10 years, I know the drill but thank you! It's good info!

I will start a new thread in case the discussion takes over this one

I ordered a bunch of cool stamps today, probably more than I need, but I will use them eventually. I got the chrysanthemum and poinsettia global ones, and sun science, Halloween, and raven (preorder) ones. I think that was all of them. I already have the coffee ones.
