The authors of I Alone Can Fix it were on Washington Week on PBS talking about an interview with former. When he was asked if he had any regrets about 2020, his only regret was not sending in a military force to Portsmouth, Seattle and other cities with protests. More than 600,000 Americans died of covid, his supporters led an insurrection and currently, his supporters are dying of Covid at alarming numbers because he undermined the science, doctors and experts. He also continues to lie about Jan 6, downplaying the violence. He lives in an alternate reality, talking about Pence’s obligation to send the electoral votes back to the states www.washingtonpost.com/washington-post-live/2021/07/20/transcript-i-alone-can-fix-it-with-co-authors-carol-leonnig-philip-rucker/I think the new thing that Phil and I learned that was even chilling to us, as hardened journalists as we are, is how much he was willing, the degree to which he was willing to put American lives and the democracy in peril for his own personal gain, for his own quest to maintain that grip on power that he became addicted to and loved.
www.npr.org/2021/07/15/1015877795/how-it-went-down-authors-go-deep-into-doomed-2020-trump-white-houseBut there is much Trump does not know or seem to want to know. He has demonstrated how little he seems to know about science, history, current world affairs, government, the law, the Constitution — or even the nuts and bolts of advertising and marketing campaigns. Ultimately we must conclude that a connection exists between this man's lack of interest in how the world really works and his instinct to recast the world in a likeness more to his liking. .

The corruption he brought, from himself to his associates, the destruction of our government which still continues. I fear much of the damaged may never be repaired in our government and our relationships with each other.

What I'm finding weird is his biggest TV fans on networks like Fox are suddenly saying you should get the vaccine. I'm wondering if they were warned they were going to be sued by the big pharmaceutical companies? They realize their voter base is dying off? They want to act like they care about America because they know the January 6th investigation is coming? Deflection? Maybe all of the above.
It is fun seeing them turn on each other. Jenna Ellis thinks Ronna McDaniel is the devil reincarnated.

Jenna Ellis thinks Ronna McDaniel is the devil reincarnated. I know, right? The timing seems kind of suspicious and it’s odd that a number of the Republicans just in the last week changed their tune on the vaccine. It’s almost like a secret memo or a bat signal went out and publicly, a number of them started recommending the vaccine. Someone must have realized they were killing their own base and at a ratio of 9:1, no amount of voter suppression could turn that around.

I don’t know how much former ( love the name, btw ) really believes all the crap he preaches. He isn’t capable of caring about anyone or anything. (I think he is just playing to his base. And, they believe it. That’s all that matters to him. His popularity. Which was - 74 million um..... people. He fooled 74 million people !!
This is the same crap Abbott is doing here. Making all these horrible laws - to play to that base. He sees that huge base of voters. He’s just doing ( sadly for us ) what former did.

Every day we learn more about just how bad it was and every day more people are dying. Many because they really thought EX cared about them. Will they ever realize how much they were conned?
I too like "former" but I would really like to just say/read/hear "EX".

I fear much of the damaged may never be repaired in our government and our relationships with each other. This is what is horrifying to me. The fact that one deluded, power-obsessed individual had (and STILL has) the ability to ruin friendships, split up families and cause widespread heartache among people he doesn’t even know and couldn’t care less about. His reign of terror has definitely impacted some of my friendships and has caused me to think much less of people who willingly gave him their support. It is a cult….

I think it all comes back to trying to get more political donations (both of them!!!)
