I was interrupted ALL.DAY.LONG! so will watch the replays to catch it all. I wish Shimelle’s keynote was available on replay - it’s still showing the generic placeholder video. That’s too bad. She gave a lot of tips on how to take self portraits. All the way from how and where to hold a cellphone and where to place a camera on timer or cellphone controlled, to how to pose, to where to pose to get the essence of your experience and interests so you can scrapbook yourself. Maybe you can post in the chat during her class tomorrow to see if there will be a replay available.

I actually didn’t do any of the class stuff from yesterday evening or today, but I spent time watching the videos( maybe some twice😉) and playing around the scraproom for 6 hours plus. It was fun!

(No surprise there - I love Shimelle!)

That was a wonderful scrappy weekend. Picked up lots of ideas. Feeling a little inspired and a little intimidated about choosing colours for my pages…. crystalb and joyfulnana, you will be happy that I plan to put together some page kits. Shimelle makes it look soooo easy, but I am finding myself second guessing myself more than usual…

It was fun, something different and learned a lot.
I agree with grammadee, it take me days to select colors and not always thrilled. It takes Shimelle about two seconds and they look fantastic. I don't use collections and trying to use up my older papers so it is very challenging.

Had a great time, learned a lot and won a membership. Oh, and fan girled over Shimelle, of course. DH looked after the house, made suppers, he’s just awesome.
I’m looking forward to participating in the group.

This weekend was so great! I was super impressed with some of the classes that I didn’t have a lot of expectations for going in. Of course I knew Shimelle would be awesome (and her sessions were the ones that I kept getting interrupted, so I’ll be watching replays). Already doing some shopping at Tonic!

The is Shimelle’s job, so she’s doing it every day and flexing those creative muscles - the more you do something, the better you get at it, and 2. The video was edited, so all her hemming and hawing was cut out!

I enjoyed SSE, this was my 3rd one. I kind of always question like "will I learn anything?" when I've been doing for so long, but there was some really great content. While I enjoy classes with projects, I really like the more lecture style where I just take notes, relax, snack and get ideas. I was able to work on some projects in between and made that Paige page too! I just used my trimmer to make the 1" squares, it was kinda fun, but not really a style I would do often.
Shimelle is just so great...her style, techniques, ideas, etc. I also enjoyed the foiling ideas, and Becki Adams is new to me, love her style too. Lots of things to think about with color and I am inspired to try some new things.
I never did page kits until the last year or so, really when I started doing LOAD having page kits helps. I like that its something crafty to do when I don't really feel like making anything, then usually putting the kits together gets me in the mood to make something.

I keep collections together and scrap that way which makes page kits easier.
I wonder if they will make this available for those of us who passed on it. I believe they’ve done so in the past. I hope so because it’s sounds like it was great!

For those who are Scrap Happy members - how much was the Scrap Smarter Experience for you? I’m just wondering what kind of discount members get compared to the early bird discount.

I had a blast. I learned a lot. I have already made my make and take. I tried some foiling (not really my jam). We all know I LOVE my page kits so wooohooo on that!

Are any you still working on any of your classes? I have done two so far. I need to upload to the gallery on the scrapsmarter site to share. Somehow, I thought there would be more sharing of completed projects going on. In retrospect and trying to work through these classes, I am not sure that I will do this “experience “ again. I did win a prize but it’s been crickets even though I filled out the prize claim several times and emailed the person in charges. It really wasn’t anything special.
I did enjoy being in the craft room and not being pressured to finish class projects by the end of a class which was nice. I doubt I will ever go to an in person “convention” class setting agin. So I am glad to know that I learned that I liked than!
