Interesting. I wonder what he thinks the video footage will show? I can’t imagine it will back up the Republican talking point that Jan 6 was an ordinary day with tourists. It fits with the Republican strategy to attack the police officers, Nancy Pelosi and anyone in the vicinity without accepting responsibility for their role in the Jan 6 insurrection. As a side note, Jamie Raskin confronted Andrew Clyde about his tourist comment and he just doubled down. www.forbes.com/sites/andrewsolender/2021/07/28/gop-rep-clyde-defends-comparing-jan-6-to-normal-tourist-visit-during-explosive-exchange/?sh=1b486b88506dAnother tangent but how does voting against awarding medals to Capitol police back the blue? There’s an amendment to award medals without mentioning the insurrection. How do you give them medals for defending the Capitol against an insurrection without mentioning the insurrection? The lengths that some of these Trump Republicans will go to whitewash, downplay and outright lie about the events of Jan 6 is unbelievable.

Maybe the 'do nothing to protect members' Capitol police should all take a vacation. No pay no work goes along with Clay Higgins' call for shutting the Capitol down because he doesn't want to wear a mask and Bobert throws a mask at a House staffers. Both tweets on miscellaneous thread bottom of page 30. vvvvv 2peasrefugees.boards.net/thread/120848/miscellaneous-political-stuff?page=30

The thing I remember most about Paul Gosar is when six of his siblings made a video about how fucking terrible he is during the election and endorsed his opponent.

The siblings have been on CNN, MSNBC and where ever else .. they do not have no e things to say.. they are sure he was probably involved in planning the insurrection,..

You get what you vote for and unfortunately his area voted for him.
I wish they'd wake up and vote differently. They don't have to vote Democrat, but pick a non-asshole, non-crazy idiot republican if they must. I know they exist, they just get threats from the fans of former

No, he is just deranged.
He wants to defund and not even give the Capitol police paychecks, whole different game!
So much for the GOP who claim they support the police!

"Defund the Police" was/is a movement by the left that swept across the country from coast to coast. It took over the democratic party from the bottom up. People died, cities burned, businesses closed. It's going to take a long time to reverse the damage, especially since now there's a bunch of progressive prosecutors and judges across the country that won't take the crimes seriously.
Try all you want, but this is all on the left.

sunshine, do your homework and research. The call to defund the police di NOT mean withhold funds from them. It meant redistribute the funds to include all services - like better training, education about racial discrepancies, etc.
I'll be the first to admit the phrase is wrong because that's not what it means at at all.

There are areas that they are having success with an officer and a specialist responding to some calls. That is a welcome improvement.

I think that it’s the latest Republican diversion tactic. The testimony of the Capitol police was damning, so they need a new conspiracy.

This particular issue is on Gosar. Sorry you’re having a hard time understanding.
PS – I didn’t see any plans in his “defund the police” movement to re-allocate those funds to social workers or other potential first responders who are better trained for some emergency calls than the police. Did you?

You dumped defund on “the dems” and “the left”. . He’s obviously deranged to join the democrats with that bull. AND I can see the left is going to do whatever they can to try and turn this back on the GOP. If it weren't so serious I'd laugh. You lay "Defund the police" on "the left" and “the dems”, which means all the left and all the dems. Not all the left nor all of the dems supports defund. Just like not all the GOP support defund. Gosar does though. See how that works?

Well he lost that one. The Senate just passed a 2.1 billion dollar bill for Capitol security, including police salaries, National Guard etc...

Now that I understand what it means, I fully support the idea.

This is actually not accurate either. BLM which began the defund the police movement has stated bluntly what they want - and yes it is to reduce money going to police to redirect to other areas/organizations to build community. They SPECIFICALLY mention that more training etc is not helpful. I'm not sure there's any movement that has been more misunderstood on BOTH sides and essentially people have just decided it means whatever they'd like it to mean. blacklivesmatter.com/what-defunding-the-police-really-means/

However, I think the idea defund the police was also being tossed around initially by people who wanted a shift in funding - more for social services, teams of mental health providers etc. Similar to the right - critical race theory was expanded to cover a lot of things that don't fit the definition.

Showing true colors again and then some.... Twitter users erupted in outrage Friday morning after right-wing Republican Congressman Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona posted on Twitter a photo of himself wearing a #ForAshli wristband honoring deceased Capitol insurrectionist Ashli Babbitt. Gosar, who has referred to the Jan. 6 rioters as "peaceful patriots," is among those who've attempted to martyrize Babbitt — demanding to know the identity of the officer who fatally shot her as she attempted to crawl through a broken window outside the Speakers Lobby. Here's how Twitter reacted to Gosar's photo: And they get worse

Back to having the Forest Service try move the moon...... Americans were not alone with raised eyebrows... Russian newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda picked up the story, publishing it with a headline that read: 'And let's change the orbit of the moon: 'The dumbest guy in the U.S. Congress' voiced a new idea,'" reported Jason Lemon. "'Rep. Louie Gohmert, Republican, recently admitted that many consider him 'the dumbest guy in Congress.' And it looks like he proved that these people are right,' the first sentence of the article reads. The article went on to say that humans have never been able to change the orbits of celestial bodies, saying that even the 'achievements of modern technologies' will not allow humans to do so." www.rawstory.com/louie-gohmert-2653303059/?cx_testId=15&cx_testVariant=cx_1&cx_artPos=1#cxrecs_s
