ETA: this truly enrages me... He is a monster, he stood on that stage and told the mob to take names and kick ass...
And he knew what was coming...

Fucking hell. These people are sick. So craven for power, but they're content to let the rest of us burn and then deny, deny, deny.
I hope he's held accountable. I doubt it. I have little confidence the wheels of justice turn for these people in the same way they turn for the rest of us.

Let me see if I have this correct: - he knew there were "risks"
- concerned enough about "risks" to wear body armor
- still choose to incite violence
I do agree with Brooks that the committee should investigate the intelligence failures related to the Capital riot. Including any sitting member of Congress that was warned about "risks" and failed to report them.
I'm loving the Swalwell lawsuit so much and looking forward to seeing Brooks explain the disconnect between 2 and 3 above.

Pelosi has Brooks under the Hammer.... On CNN Thursday, former federal prosecutor Elliot Williams broke down the claim by Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) that he had had credible threats of violence ahead of January 6th — and how it puts him in a bind when the House committee investigating the attack demands his testimony. Williams explained the significance of Brooks' admission and said it would be relevant to the House Select Committee's investigation. This reminds me of Louie Gohmert years ago, he talked about a friend of his at the FBI or a former agent or someone if law enforcement who told him about when pregnant women coming to have babies in America, then they would go back and they would come back as terrorists and attack America," said anchor Anderson Cooper. "This is incredibly relevant information," added Williams. "If he, as many Republicans in Congress were making the argument, this is about Capitol safety, if are you saying that you were threatened by BLM protesters, that's relevant to the inquiry that's happening right here. Come in, say it under oath voluntarily to Congress. Everyone thinks the Speaker would seek a subpoena and the Justice Department would enforce one. She has a hammer over his head, if he chooses to go down that road, but it'll take a long time once they get to court." www.rawstory.com/mo-brooks-capitol-riot-2654275233/

Be prepared to laugh!! Mo Brooks is representing himself. Notice he has learned well from former, speaking in third person... Brooks on January 6 spoke at Trump's MAGA rally and told the estimated 12,000 attendees, "Today is the day American patriots start taking down names and kicking ass." But Brooks was also the first member of Congress to announce he would vote to overturn the election. And in December Politico reported Brooks was "spearheading the long-shot push to overturn the election results in Congress," and []noted he had organized a "trio of White House meetings, which lasted over three hours and included roughly a dozen lawmakers."[/b] The Alabama Republican Congressman tried to get the Dept. of Justice to defend him, claiming his inciting thousands of loyal Trump cultists was a part of his job as a federal government employee. The DOJ disagreed and refused. So now he is in court. Brooks, who is an attorney, is reportedly representing himself. Here's what he told the judge on Wednesday in his defense, asking to be dismissed from the lawsuit, per Reuters' legal affairs reporter Jan Wolfe. "Brooks is 67 years old." "Brooks has never smoked tobacco. Brooks does not consume alcohol. Brooks has never experimented with or taken illegal drugs." Report Advertisement "Brooks has never been arrested or convicted of any felonies or misdemeanors." "Brooks has never had a DUI, a reckless driving ticket, or even a speeding ticket." "Brooks has never had a motor vehicle wreck in which anyone claimed Brooks was at fault." "Brooks has been married 45 years. Brooks has always been faithful to his wife. Together they have raised four children, all of whom are married, none of whom have been divorced, all of whom are law-abiding, none of whom have been arrested for anything, all of whom have college degrees and jobs," it says. He concludes with one curious claim: "Brooks has a perfect ethics record...despite Democrats...having harassed Brooks with at least 38 ethics complaints."www.rawstory.com/mo-brooks-tries-to-weasel-out-of-insurrection-lawsuit-by-telling-judge-hes-never-smoked-tobacco-or-cheated/
