We went to Costco last week. I told a friend we were going and he said to let him know if they had water in stock. We went, and they had tons. My friend said that Costco is having delivery issues and when water comes in, everyone buys tons of it. I did notice almost every cart had at least one case of water, many had more. So it is not necessarily a run on their products because of a Covid fear, but because delivery is a problem.

Our local Walmarts are low on a lot of things too, due to delivery issues. Random things like hair clips and socks.

Well our Sams is out of water again after getting some in for a day. Walmart is now limiting to 3 gallons. It’s annoying. Not the end of the world but annoying.

When this was started on the 30th I made a special trip to the store (Walmart, and a grocery store) to see if we had shortages in our area. At that time, I only noticed what I assumed was shortages of people getting ready for school. Items such as snacks, bread, sandwich meats, ziplocks and brown bags, juices other items of that sort which can be quick easy things for kids to eat or use to take with for lunches for school. (I also noticed wipes and sanitizer shortages). I made a trip to Sams the same day. Everyone in the store had paper towels, & toilet paper in their cart (still limited here). Didn’t think too much about that either it’s Hurricane season.
Mother called yesterday informing me of the stores looking like they did last year. I thought, nah. So, today I made another special trip just to see.
There’s many items that are short sugar, only small bags of generic brand, flour is short, evaporated milk short, canned goods of all sorts short, crackers short, I felt myself panic. But only left with some evaporated milk and shelf stable milk because I have kept myself stocked.
I am wondering if anyone else is seeing shortages elsewhere. I am in Louisiana (born and raised) same general area so this is not due to Hurricane season. Maybe people are anticipating a shutdown.

Apparently bottled water is a real problem across the US and Europe. Major shortages. My mom said Costco was completely out of any kind of bottled water yesterday.

I just got home from Costco. I would say 75 percent of the people were in masks (and we're in a "moderate" area - we're not overwhelmed with Covid here); there was plenty of water but I took note that the paper towel and toilet paper pallets were about half full.

I was at Costco near my home this morning (in Canada). It was surprisingly quiet at about 70% full which is a miracle but made for nice shopping. Everything was in stock and everyone has to wear a mask. The lineup at the gas station was small as well. It might be because it super hot/humid and we've been getting rumbling thunderstorms every few hours. The weather has been so unsettled this summer.

I'm in Canada and my local stores are fully stocked but this hasn't always been the case during covid.

I was at Costco on Sunday afternoon so it was peak weekend hours and a packed store. While I didn't head into the dry goods aisles looking for flour, sugar, etc., everything else was well stocked including a special cap for Clorox wipes which is probably one of the rare times I've seen that many 'in the wild' since the pandemic started.
I'm in Maryland and specifically in an area where there's a high vaccination rate though our numbers are starting to creep up. Again.
