Anyone else get into a hole like this? I don't like it! I have put my scrapbooking away for a solid 3-4 months sometimes. I just get to a place where I can't manage to do it. Of course, I am always of the opinion I must set aside an entire day to scrapbook too.

Chinagirl828 the boat did not sink! It didn't even leak. It was pretty fun even though we were in a bay on the Sound instead of on a peaceful lake like it was intended for. And my hubby found a buyer for it literally within 5 minutes this morning... assuming the guy shows up and doesn't change his mind about what he's willing to pay. Oh yay! And how wonderful that you've found a buyer so quickly. It took an extra day, a second buyer, but yes, it's gone IMG_1484 by jo.blackford, on Flickr I also spent a few days photographing old oak furniture in the darkest, most cluttered room in my FIL's house. It has orange/red shag carpet. On the walls too 😳 My nightmare. (The whole room just out of frame to the left is full of boxes and extra furniture). I had to bring my soft boxes and the light was still awful, obvs. My nightmare by jo.blackford, on Flickr I just sat down at my crafty desk for the first time in about 5 days... sigh. I can barely remember what I was doing the last time I made something. Glad I left some WIPs out for myself.

I have never understood choosing bright colours for carpet, and I especially do not understand wanting to put it onto walls I'm glad you found a buyer to come through on the paddle boat though, it must be a relief to have something so unwieldy gone.

I simply cannot get myself to my craft room. I've done one layout this month. And that is only because I signed up for Sketchtember. One! I don't want to touch the paper. I don't want to touch the glue. Enamel dots? Ewwww!! Pictures? Nooooooo! Three of my sketches might be just that - sketches! Anyone else get into a hole like this? I don't like it! yes! I’m having that problem for months now! I’m finally coming out of it a little. Now I need the time and mojo to align. Man it’s been a crazy week here work wise. A small storm and power surge took out my modem for my work internet last Sunday. It took me until Thursday to be back online and back to work. And then a BIG storm took my power last night. It’s still out. We all heard it hit a pole not far from my building. So I’ve worked one day this week, but been on edge waiting for everything to work so I can work lol. Today I will match photos to sketches and paper. Then maybe print photos and actually scrap this weekend. I’m such a lame team lead LOL! But no mojo and needing a break happens to us all. . That paddle boat looks so fun joblackford. But, I can’t say I would want to own one either lol. I’m glad it sold quickly. And um, OMG that orange carpet. What were people thinking back then? 🤦🏻♀️

But oh what a wonderful chair! I hope someone else thinks so too. I'm afraid my FIL overvalues fancy chairs... and there don't seem to be many buyers. And um, OMG that orange carpet. What were people thinking back then? 🤦🏻♀️ My MIL (another branch of the fam) has the same stuff but the shag has worn down a bit more. 1979 Rusty red/orange... ruins all my family gathering photos... What I wouldn't do to have Christmas in a bright modern room with some space that isn't piled with knickknacks and stufffff.

(also posted in Pokies) so I'm probably crazy but Dusty is 13 weeks now and super playful and our other cats are all seniors and no longer interested in playing...so..we decided he needed a playmate. Introducing Paddington - he's also 13 weeks old despite being so much bigger. Dusty was just so tiny and is still catching up.

Thanks joblackford and Chinagirl828 - I'm pretty sure I qualified as a crazy cat lady long ago..I've had between 2 and 8 cats for the past 25 years. We're at 6 now and that's plenty. Yes- there will be lots of kitten layouts once I get that far in my 2021 album I think at this stage in my life I'm scrapping more cat layouts than people. Hoping to scrap this evening but I didn't get a ton of sleep last night as Paddington was missing his littermates and explaining that rather loudly at times and they both woke up on the early side. So we'll have to see how I do after dinner. DH napped all day yesterday and is napping again now but I didn't nap at all.

I can't believe it's the 17th. I feel like I lost a couple of weeks! We've been to my FIL's about 5 times in the past week (helping him downsize, selling furniture, donating, etc) and I don't even know where the time has gone. Tomorrow the Luna dog comes back to stay so the days will be more routine, punctuated by thrice daily walks. Hopefully that will give me a chance to catch up.
I'm freaking out a bit because my Instagram feed is suddenly all the Halloween releases and I'm feeling so behind! I need to check if I have enough cards to donate and what seasons they're appropriate to. I don't want to find a bunch of summery cards stashed away when I'm ready to send them my holiday cards.
Part of me knows this is all marketing and nonsense - it's mid-summer here, seasonally speaking. My tomatoes are just starting to ripen in large quantities, my house is full of dahlias. Our schools don't go back for another 2-3 weeks at least (not that I have kids, but it's still a seasonal marker for me). I might need to spend a few days unplugged to get my head back on straight.
How is it in your areas - are you feeling like summer is almost over? Are you crafting for the winter holidays yet?

joblackford my job completely ramps up in the summer time so I always feel like it blows right by me. I'll be busy until December now. The good news is that I take a vacation in Sept or Oct of each year right in the middle of my busy season and we are going camping. So right now the countdown is on to camping. It will be just the two of us and I'm so looking forward to that. And then I always take a staycation in January after all the craziness has passed. I've managed 5 pocket pages this month so I'm calling that a win. I should have known better than to play this month. It seems like everyone is wanting to do end of season BBQ and things right now too. So my weekends have been busier too. I probably won't play again until January.

jeremysgirl my job ramps up like crazy through the summer as well. I so look forward to camping season being over! (I work in the RV industry) I have 10 days off next month and I can't wait! I want to spend a good amount of that bringing the mojo back to life. I haven't scrapped a single page since April,so don't worry about whether or not you are getting points! 5 layouts of any kind in a month is a big win in my world! joblackford yes, it's starting to feel like Fall (for me) and I welcome the slow down. Not to rush summer away for those of you that love it, but Fall is my favorite lol. I'm slowly getting page kits ready and packed for my crop next month. I'm finishing the packing up for that this weekend! It's quite eye opening to be packing up half my stash for a 3 day crop and there is still plenty to scrap with. My attempts to freeze this year did not happen. But I'm finally at place of enough. I don't see anything recently that is a must have. It's all looking so similar to things I already have. That's going to be great for my wallet! I'm itching to scrap, so once the crop bag is packed I'm going to get busy with the sketch Chinagirl828 posted last week. I love that one! And even though I'm not hosting a day for Sketchtember I'm really looking forward to it. I don't know what it is, but it always get me excited to create! Linda those kitties are so cute! I aspire to more of cat lady someday. I love my senior kitty to pieces but I would also love some cute, energetic kittens. I'm crazy aren't I? LOL! I can't believe how fast this month has gone! It just started!

Hello everyone - I've not been great about keeping up on the thread this month - sorry. joblackford - enjoy your time with Luna Dog. It's definitely still summertime weather-wise here. We've had a heat advisory the past few days - YUCK. But with D14 back in school and DD21 starting online college classes again on Monday - the fall routines are starting to fall into place. I'm still adjusting to the 6am alarm clock after a year of not having to get up for the school bus. jeremysgirl - 5 pocket pages IS a win. No worries about not getting much done - I've had months where I've done absolutely nothing - sometimes life just works out that way. We'll miss you on the teams but I hope if you do get a chance to scrap, you'll stop in and share - or at least swing by and chat. joblackford - you know we're happy to have you on the team even when life means creating and chatting is near to impossible. ((((Hugs))) joyfulnana - if you're crazy, I certainly am. Kittens are fun and energetic - but seniors are so sweet as well. I actually am loving having both. Taking the morning - and maybe the afternoon - to scrap today.

How is it in your areas - are you feeling like summer is almost over? We had lovely t-shirt weather on the weekend (it's still winter here) and the cherry blossom trees are in full bloom in the park across the road. I am on a high knowing that spring is just around the corner (8 days away to be precise), daylight savings is only 6 weeks away, and summer is three months and one week away. Not that I'm counting! I've managed 5 pocket pages this month so I'm calling that a win. I should have known better than to play this month. It seems like everyone is wanting to do end of season BBQ and things right now too. So my weekends have been busier too. I probably won't play again until January. I hope you still play. Nobody cares about points, honestly. My mojo has definitely disappeared this month. I have had to use a sketch or template of scraplift for every layout so far (not that I've done many). I wish someone had set a challenge for how many hours we sat looking at a blank screen or blank piece of cardstock - I would have earned us all the winning points this month for sure!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one looking forward to spring. Did you see next week is supposed to be one day of 20 and then two days of 22? I'm ridiculously excited, especially after today's weather. We have cherry blossoms in our street and I'm always happier when they start to bloom as I know it means the warmer weather is on the way, although the one on the nature strip in front of my house, which is one of the last in the street to bloom, is already dropping its petals.

This made me laugh! I've told my boss I would be a millionaire if I got "dread pay" LOL. What you said reminded me of that lol. Since I discovered sketches years ago, I never start without a sketch. And I usually follow it quite closely. You can always see the sketch when I finish. My pages would all look the same if it weren't for sketches. I can't believe the month is almost over. I need to see if I got points for anything except organizing lol. I'm excited for Sketchtember and maybe a little extra excited since I'm not a host this year. Although that was 4 guaranteed layouts I would get done for the month. jeremysgirl, isn't buying but not using the scrapbooker's mantra? I hope so, because I'm very good at that!

isn't buying but not using the scrapbooker's mantra? I hope so, because I'm very good at that! I'm a very careful buyer. But my two kits came, which I commit to monthly. And then my Christmas pre-order came this week too. I had almost forgotten about it, I ordered so long ago. I was glad to see what I had chosen.

Hey team! How's it going? I can't believe we are closing in on the end of the month and I'm finally ready to scrap lol. Man I'm looking forward to Sketchtember! It's my favorite month around here.
No real plans today which means I may actually scrap. But part of me wants to put kits together for next month lol. It's been so long I am overwhelmed with starting. I need to just get that first crappy page out of the way already lol.
I hope everyone is have a fun and safe weekend!

I'm spending the weekend scrapping - it's rainy and my birthday is tomorrow and I decided that since we didn't have any weekend plans, I would do the bare minimum of housework/cooking over the weekend and just hang out in my craft room. I've been going back and doing this year's sketchy saturday sketches since I missed so many of them.

I am ridiculously excited for sketchtember this year and have pulled together about a dozen starting points, either just papers, or papers and some embellishments. I'm trying to leave my options pretty open in terms of photo sizes by not printing yet, and have not put too much into the page kits as I know I'd just want to finish the whole page right then. I got a little more scrapping done last night, and today is back to wet and colder so I'm planning on moving over to my desk shortly. Happy birthday for tomorrow Linda!

Happy Birthday Linda! Your birthday weekend sounds perfect. That was always Mother's Day for me - no cooking, cleaning, just doing anything I wanted for the day. I finally scrapped a little. Mostly it was playing with some inks and trying things out for backgrounds, but I started a page as well. My mom got a new computer and asked if we could video chat to check the camera out. Which turned into "let's scrap!" so yay, I have dedicated time carved out today. It seems like every year I get more excited about Sketchember. September has become my most productive month. And I'm looking forward to the online crops starting up again soon. Those help my productivity too.

Sorry I didn't see all the recent posts the past few days, missed your birthday Linda, glad you had some scrappy time. I did see the results in the sharing thread! Unless I missed other challenges like frozen or spending (didn't see anything like that for Aug) my total was for 14 hours of crochet and cards: 749 points.
