My son is an eighth grade lacrosse goalie. He plays both field and box lacrosse.
He was asked to play on a freshman box team because they didn't have one who had box gear (box is more like hockey.) They were undefeated on the season. He was also asked to fill in for the *varsity* goalie who has been out on recruiting trips for the past five games. Saturday was the varsity championship with him in goal. His team won (and also was undefeated for the season.)
An online article named him as MVP for the varsity game. (!!!)
Both box games were played after a hectic field lacrosse event in another county, so he was beat by the time he arrived at the box rink.
I'm so proud of the team, and of him, for being the smallest giant player on the varsity team.
