3 years ago to my aunt. She never got it.
Just got returned to me yesterday...
Envelope is perfect. Says return to sender on it.
Not sure where it's been.
I looked thru my photos and was able to determine when I made that style card.

I've had that happen before, just a return to sender but mine was only a year later. 3 years seems like a long time to go through the postal system!

I had this happen for a payment someone sent to my place of employment. We are in a relatively rural area. The item was received at least 3 years later. I spoke with the ladies at the post office since we are a small community they are familiar with us. They said there was a high probability that it somehow slipped behind a piece of furniture or something that is not frequently moved, and when the item was finally moved, for cleaning or re-arranging the envelope was found. I saw that the post mark was from an even smaller post office than the one in my community so I am betting they were spot on. With all the mail that goes through the post office a lost envelope is highly conceivable, man when I think of how many things I have lost just in my craft room, it's no wonder my cards every make it to the intended recipient.

Wow,. Well, at least you got it back. Are you going to send it to her again, but with updated postage? (I recommend a two ounce stamp for home made cards, so it hopefully is less likely to be returned.)

So I got another piece of mail from three years ago.
I was having such an issue with mailbox. I did call and complain.
But I did a test I mailed two letters from the regular box I was using , one to myself the other to my friend. She got hers I didn't. Until yesterday. Aug 20, 2018
I also mail work stuff from there. So I can just imagine all the stuff they are finding.

when things like this happen, i'm both disgusted and impressed with the postal service. disgusted that they never delivered it. impressed that they returned it to you after all of these years.
