I was picking papers to go with my latest photo order yesterday and was really not happy with my red paper stash.
I organize my papers by theme and color, and I don't even have a red folder, although I have a red scrap drawer (not very full).
It made me think maybe I need to go order all the red things...
Anyone else?

I did that once with purple! I do not organize by color (I organize by manufacturer and then by line). I find reds are really hard to match if they are not just the right shade!

I don't really use much red, but I also find myself needing or wanting more occasionally! Especially around Christmas! And true with purple too! So many shades to match, it seems I never have the right one. I sort my good cardstock by color, but nothing else.

Once I finish with a collection, I sort the remainders by colour (usually using the b-side), and I have other random papers sorted this way too. While I primarily scrap and shop by collection, I found I really enjoyed having a rainbow of supplies to pull from, so now I do shop by colour as well as collection. I find American Crafts often has really good b-sides, so even if I am not buying a collection, I do tend to go through the b-sides and see if it fills in any gaps in my rainbow collection. I also sort leftover embellishments this way, and will shop for basic embellishments by colour.

I sort by colour but only shop by colour for specific projects or if I run out of something.

i know i gravitate towards certain colors and avoid brights/pastels like the plague. lol
my cardstock is arranged by colors and the prints are arranged by manufacturer.

No I never shop by color, but obviously I am drawn to certain colors over others. I am more of a theme shopper I suppose.

Anyone else? I organize the same way. I typically pick a theme first. More because of the type of colors that will be in there. If nothing works, I go to my miscellaneous papers sorted by color. I have LOT of blue and green and not much of the other colors.

I organize by collection, then theme, then by color, but I shop by the “oh pretty!”/puts-in-cart method. I’d say to hold off on reds, there are so many variations; so shop when you have a page/project in mind and can get a red to match your photo/other paper exactly.

I organize by color too, but regardless of the color I never seem to have the right shade.

I have a hard time seeing the true color online. I've been surprised a few times when the papers arrive. I recently bought this paper link . The blue background was much darker. So, I take the approach of buying a two or three red papers, so one might work.

I like how ACOT has suggestions for coordinating card stock below the collections. So far I haven’t gotten one I didn’t like paired with the collection.

I shop by the “oh pretty!”/puts-in-cart method This made me laugh, but it's also very true for how I shop. I generally shop the new releases and add all the things to my cart that I kind of like, then periodically go through the cart and review everything, getting rid of the things that no longer excite me. Occasionally I might notice I don't have much in the way of red paper in my stash so I'll keep my eye out for some options while I'm shopping, but it's rare that I'll go back to older collections and look for red papers unless I know of one that I previously considered or bought and loved so much I'm happy to buy it again.

I only shop by color for cardstock, usually neutrals (e.g. white, vanilla, black, grey, navy, & chocolate). It's my favorite & most frequently used supply, since it serves as the base of every layout for stability (even if it gets completely covered by patterned paper, photos, or memorabilia). I organize cardstock by manufacturer (e.g. Bazzill, American Crafts, Core'dinations), then loosely sort by color.

I shop by all of it! Color, cuteness, patterns, style, theme. I have gone shopping before looking for a specific color or theme, based on what I am working on at that time.

Good question! I don't really shop by color, unless I am running low on a favorite cardstock. I will shop by color for Thickers or enamel dots.

I did that last year with purple. I've recently noticed my black patterned paper section was looking pretty sad, so I will be grabbing pieces here & there when I place new SB.com orders.
