I am going to clean my house from top to bottom this weekend. It's not dirty, but cluttered with random crap. My problem is that I get distracted and overwhelmed whenever I start picking up, you know? I stumble upon a stack of pictures from when one of the kids was a baby and get caught up in looking through those instead of filing them and moving on to the next thing.
I think if I had a checklist, I would do better. I love checking things off of a list, as juvenile as that sounds. Can anyone recommend some good printable ones? My goal is to get the house clean so I can put up my Christmas decorations, and also hopefully find my Kindle Fire that has disappeared.
TIA!

pinterest has some good ones. I will check and come back. But with all organizing threads, books etc I have researched and studied over the years heres what I have found works for me. This may help with the over whelming aspect.
make a list for each room. Determine what is the issue and what needs to be cleaned. work clock wise or counter clock wise or grid pattern in the room. So your not bouncing around. Make a pile of things that don't belong in the room. don't go and move them at each item hence the distracted part.
give yourself a reward system. So you have a break. Like after one task is done or a time limit. you get a coffee break. Or computer break. etc.
ANYTHING YOU ACCOMPLISH IS AN ACCOMPLISHMENT..ITS MORE THAN YOU HAD COMPLETED BEFORE
the most things that need deep cleaning are things behind other things..like baseboards behind beds, or under beds.

For me it would be sending the kids to a friends for a week! That is my main issue with cleaning. Only one more year and one will be in college!! That will help my messy house by 1/3!
