How often (if ever) do you create cards without sentiments? I've usually always done sentiments, but I've recently been finishing up a bunch of cards with lots of layers (kind of like Birch Press layering dies, but with a Silhouette cut file, see below for image) and they're honestly so pretty that I don't think they need anything extra. (I used more/different colors than the example.) I'm not sure yet what I'm doing with the cards, if I'm going to use them myself or donate them, but somehow it feels almost sacrilegious to not use a sentiment, lol! I think I've been so conditioned to "add a sentiment" (last step in many YouTube tutorials) that it feels weird not to do so. Do you also have a hard time with this?

Love your card and you’re right, it doesn’t need anything extra. A sentiment would distract from the design.

Cards without sentiments are nice because they can be used to write a note inside that suits the recipient. Not every card needs a sentiment. A beautiful front is enough.

Beautiful card - I love that you offset the focal point. Geometrics - my cuppa.
I send cards without sentiments on the outside. Sometimes I add them to the inside and also a note.

I struggle with adding sentiments a lot of the time so I just leave them off. I don't think it's a problem but it depends on the person - some people seem to care more than others. Something like this, I would probably not add one, but you could try a scripty word and sentiment strip combo and see if it stands out enough or detracts from the beauty of the card. But if a sentiment doesn't seem right I wouldn't worry about not adding one.
Lovely design!

Beautiful design. I don't always add sentiments to my cards either, it doesn't bother me because the inside message will explain why you got the card for 🤣. On the other hand my DH would complain about if there is no sentiment on the front or if the sentiment is not your usual ,happy birthday, thank you, congratulations...etc. He doesn’t get thinking of you cards either.

Beautiful design. Quite often I make cards without sentiments and either leave them like that or add a sentiment when I'm ready to send them - that way they can more easily be used for any occasion.

Love that card! I make lots of cards without sentiments. Sometimes they just take away from the card. Your cards, your rules.

That is a beautiful card! I tend to always put sentiments on my cards. I need to re-think that!

In the beginning, I almost never added a sentiment to the front of a card. I didn't want to risk ruining my card. Sentiments went on the insert. Now that we have stamp positioners that really work, I will add a sentiment if it adds to the layout rather than distract from it. I would not put a sentiment on the card that you showed. It's gorgeous just as it is. A sentiment would be distracting.
One other thing I realized was that we need to plan where the sentiment is to go before making the card--make it a part of the overall design. I was always trying to stick it on wherever it looked OK when everything else was done. It ended up looking like what it was--an add-on.

I like making cards. By putting a specific sentiment on the front (happy birthday, get well soon, etc) limits the use of the card. I just make the card and dedicate it on the inside when I prepare to send it out. Which reminds me to get to the post office today to buy up some stamps. Rates go up on Sunday.

I personally love cards like this, you can add a note inside and this way it can't be used for nearly any occasion or just a notecard. Love the design.
