Happy Sunday! I have been a traditional 12 X 12 scrapbooker since 1998, and I have just recently started scrapping in a 9 X 12 ring binder with pocket pages. I love the versatility of moving things around, but one thing that bothers me is that some of the cards and photos slide out of the pockets as I turn the pages. Does this happen to anyone else? Am I doing something wrong? This was definitely not an issue with traditional pages since everything was taped down.

Yep it happens sometimes. I either use a mini glue dot, a mini staple or a mini paperclip, etc. to seal the pocket closed.

This only happens to me if the pocket is a bit bulky so I've been using these perforated clear seals and if I want to get back into the pocket I can get into it fairly easily. clear seals

That happens to me if the pocket contents get thick. In that case I use washi tape to seal the top.

I've been using some mini-glue dots (even though I shudder when I add them to my photos) and have considered washi tape, but most of the washi tape I have is too wide and too colorful. Will definitely order these.

I know the tool is not universally loved, but I really like the Fuse Tool for this. I find it works really well once it is good and hot, so I do batches of pages at once. I like that it looks professional and neat when its finished.

You could make the pockets with cardstock and a clear window. Another trick would be to put a "cs brow" over the opening to keep things in place.

There are some configurations that I'd like to use but which don't exist in the pocket pages I've seen. I am all for making things look neat!

Do you mean I should fill the pockets with cardstock before adding my pictures and journaling cards? I am not sure what a "cs brow" is.

I am not sure what brands you are using, but I noticed that this happens more with some configurations of PP than others. For instance in the SC/AE page protectors that have 3 rows with a 4x6 and 3x4 in each row, it’s really hard to keep things in that 4x6 top pocket, even if it’s not bulky. The same configuration from Scrapbook.com seems to hold in photos a bit better, so I just punch new holes and use the scrapbook.com version for that configuration in my 4-ring album. .
I will try some of those clear sealing stickers, that seems like it wouldn’t be too distracting.

You can make an envelope with paper or cardstock (cs), then make a window, with clear plastic material, on the facing side of the envelope so you can see what is inside. To keep things from falling out place a strip of cardstock (cs) or chipboard, like an eyebrow, a little above the opening of the envelope to keep the contents from coming out.

I keep a lot of memorabilia and things, so I love that I can trim and seal a pocket page down to perfectly fit brochures, etc. There are also some older style divided page protectors from WRMK and Simple stories that have pockets either on the side or across the top that go the full 12" and I find that I can never get things to stay put in them unless I fuse them or staple them right to the page protector (which I don't always want to do).
For the holidays, I also want to try to so some sequin/shaker pockets in my divided page protectors.

I really like my Fuse tool. If things are falling out, I seal the pocket. I've also changed configurations of pages and made shaker pockets using my Fuse. I find that if you heat it up for at least 10 minutes, it works really well. I use some heavy cardstock underneath the pockeet, and it works really well.

The plastic seems slippery. I don't have too many bulky pockets, so I don't think that's the issue. I do have some packs of the Scrapbook.com page protectors that I bought when they were on sale, so hopefully that will help. I had assumed the pockets would be easier, but I guess there's a trick to everything.
