I signed up to try one shipment. I've heard good things about it. My first box is due to arrive tomorrow and I am excited to get it!! I thought I'd try one before I would sign up for recurring shipments. I'm interested in knowing if anyone here has tried it and hear your thoughts.....

I have. I got fixes for about a year when they first started (I heard about them through Stephanie Howell's blog) and although I rarely kept all five things, their stuff is pretty expensive but in the early days, I thought the quality was great and I liked the stylists. It took a couple of times for them to get my style and size right but they did and I loved getting them.
The I took a break for a few months and I ordered one in April. I was really disappointed because the clothes were hideous, either too big or totally inappropriate for a 49 year-old, size twelve, mother of three and waaaay overpriced. I kept a necklace so I wouldn't lose my style fee and sent it back. I also sent an email expressing how disappointed I was and that I wouldn't be ordering again. I will have to say that they responded immediately and offered to send me a fix and wove the styling fee. When I decided to take them up on it, I had to wait until THIS month (it's scheduled for July 16) to get it. I'm very curious what will be in there.
If you DO decide to try them out, be very specific with exactly what you want and what your style is. Also, don't feel bad about sending anything back you don't love. Their stuff is pricey and honestly, if you have the time to shop for yourself, I would do it. I just don't think their clothes are as nice as they were at first.

My friend turned me onto it and I filled out the survey but haven't signed up for a delivery yet. I spend a fortune on clothes anyway so figured it would be fun to have someone else pick stuff out -- maybe discover some new things.
let us know how your first delivery goes -- how much was it?

I have had two or three fixes and usually keep 2-3 items from each. I have one scheduled at the end of July, you have to wait so long for a box right now.

I've heard of it, but never actually seen anything anyone has chosen to keep. I'd love to see pictures!

Thanks for the info! I'll be popping that box open as soon as I get home from work tonight. I'll let you all know how it was. I'll include pictures.....if I can figure out how to do that.

A friend of mine did, and she felt they did not really listen to the feedback she gave about the types of items she preferred. She got 3 shipments and cancelled. Of the 3 shipments, she kept 2 items. One thing she really does not like is capped sleeves, and she received them in every shipment.

I'm excited to see this thread. I've been wanting to try Stitch Fix, but have been holding out til I was close to my goal weight, and now I have to wait for school to start back up so I have a paycheck to pay for it. lol
Silly question, maybe, but If I schedule a Fix now (for, say, September?) when will they charge me for it? Today? The day it ships?? Also, can I request fall clothing??

Oh! Also, If I schedule my fix for September now, can I edit my preferences, sizing, etc, up until close(ish) to my fix date still?

Ghostie - they won't charge you for it until it ships, and then you will only be charged for your $20 styling fee. Once you receive it, you decide what you want to keep and send back what you don't. You log into your account and tell them what you are keeping - then they charge your card (minus the $20 styling fee) for what you are keeping. If you decide to send back all the items you forfeit the $20 styling fee.

I wanted to try it, but their biggest size is 12 and I'm a 14. I'm always bummed when my friends post about their cute Fixes.

MonkeysInk - The FAQ's on their website says they have sizes 0/XS-14/XL! Maybe they changed it recently?

My SIL just got her first box and had some really cute stuff - she sent back the jeans though because they were too low-cut for her. I've looked at it, but I'm a clotheshorse and have been trying to get RID of stuff, not add more. It looks fun though!

I've never heard of it before now.
Too bad it doesn't offer sizes above 14XL. Anyone know a company similar that does?
Although, I would think it would be really hit or miss whether the things selected fit well and I liked them enough to keep. It's hard enough for me to go shopping and find clothes that I like the way they look on me. It would be that much harder for a boxed assortment to fit me well.

If you google "stitch fix reviews" it will lead you to a lot of blogs of people reviewing their products such as this one -- when they send the clothes they even give you styling suggestions. And they only charge you for what you keep Reviews

Thought I should update on this....I have actually received two shipments. I'm not 100% sold, but am intrigued enough to try this a little longer and see how it develops. In my first shipment I received a lacey type top and a gorgeous deep blue silk blouse which I kept, and they have become staples in my wardrobe. I also received a wrap dress, that while it fit correctly, was not flattering on my figure and a necklace that was not my style - those went back. My fifth item was a pair of bermuda length shorts that fit heavenly but I hated the color, and those went back as well.
In my 2nd shipment I received a pair of those same bermuda length shorts in a different color - so they were keepers. I also received a bracelet which I kept and am loving. What went back? Two shirts that, while they were cute, were ridiculously overpriced for the style and material. Think a glorified t-shirt ($68) and tank top ($58). I also received one of the most gorgeous maxi dresses I have seen. The print, the fit.....everything was perfect, but I could not justify the price tag ($168!).
I have been very detailed and specific about my likes, dislikes, body-type and figure flaws. Stitch Fix has nailed it both times providing items I really like (or in some cases love) and every single thing has fit perfectly. At this point my biggest complaint would be the price tag on some of the items. I do not mind paying for quailty items, but I expect quality when I am paying for it. The value in the dress was there - I just couldn't justify it knowing how little I would actually wear it. The shirts however were a joke when you looked at the price of them.
Overall, I feel they are absolutely listening to the feedback I am giving to them and reacting accordingly. I will try a few more shipments and see how it goes. It is kind of fun to get that box and be totally surprised by some new wardrobe options that you most likely would have never picked out for yourself.

I have gotten two Stitch Fixes and I've been very happy with them. They most definitely listened to my feedback. The first one, I kept 2/5 items and the second one, I kept all 5. They picked things that were flattering and fit well, but were not things that I would pick myself (which is EXACTLY what I want).
I have given very specific feedback/notes and also maintain a Pinterest board with examples of clothing I'm drawn to.
So far, I'd highly recommend them.

I am so excited to get my first box. I don't mind paying a mark up as it is totally worth it since they do the shopping and shipping for me and hopefully find things I wouldn't normally pick out.

If you want to try it, please use my referral link and I will get a credit -- would be fun if a group of us tried it for a couple months

A question about Stitch Fix clothes - they are all regular brand names, correct? Like, if I received a shirt from a brand and liked how it fit but not the colour, I may be able to chase one down in a department store in a different colour? Or does Stitch Fix have its own label?

I check out this blog daily and she subscribes to Stitch Fix. She always includes pictures wearing what she has received in her box. It might be helpful. Walking in Grace and Beauty
