And I bet everything is full of lignin and acid and I even see some staples. Looks great after 53 years. 😂

And I bet everything is full of lignin and acid and I even see some staples. Looks great after 53 years. 😂 We'll talk again in 2 centuries. I had my gloved-up hands on some early 19th century books earlier this summer that had been brought in for restoration and well, some of them are living on very borrowed time. Not sure why the owner insisted on the restoration but ho hey, well-paid work for my friend! Same for some folks still trying to salvage wooden furniture that is clearly just falling apart *cough my stepfather cough*. I know that piece has been in the family for generations but you're paying a small fortune for something that is just going to crack to pieces in the next 10 years or so. Oh well, if it pays a craft worker and you can afford it, why not, I guess. But you're barely delaying the inevitable...

I love seeing how, before we had all the stuff we have now, this extremely creative person documented her life. So awesome. tFS.

I love that!
We also saw another famous person’s memory keeping project the same day you posted this. Val Kilmer has made a movie about his life which features a lot of his own videos but also a kind of scrapbook/art journal. They show him working on it in the beginning of the movie, but they use for chapter breaks all through the film as well. And at the beginning he shows the room (warehouse?) that he has full of all his papers and home movies and audition tapes and *everything* 😮 It’s not quite scrapbooking or memory keeping in our sense, but it’s really interesting and if you were a fan of him in Top Gun it might be worth a watch, although it’s also a quite sad to see him old and frail after throat cancer. It’s on Amazon Prime.
