I recently bought a navy dress. I'd like to wear it with tights and boots. I have brown boots and black boots. My question is: what color tights?

I would wear brown boots with navy but maybe not black, probably, but it kind of depends on whether there's enough colour/shade difference between the two areas. And I'd wear navy tights. But you could equally wear tights to match the boots which would probably help to visually elongate your legs - never a bad thing  |

With black boots, I'd wear charcoal grey tights--this is where I'd also experiment with pattern
With brown boots you can be more versatile with navy tights, brown tights, tan or oatmeal, or wear a great scarf with the dress and pull a colour from there, like red or maroon, etc.
I came of age in the 90s, so I still like the dark tights and clunky loafer look or shorter bootie look--I wouldn't wear boots that were too rocker chic since I'm over 35, something a bit more plain.
