fedex did that to me last week. the package got close to my house and then it went back out to another facility about 20 miles away and then back down to me. but they delivered on a Sunday so all is forgiven.

As absolutely frustrating as it can be to ship things and receive them in good order, and pay the shipping costs, I still marvel that anything gets anywhere really. For me to mail a box from here on the east coast, have it arrive to my son's on the west coast, be delivered to his front door for whatever it costs amazes me. And a letter with a stamp on it? How much does that have to go through for less than a dollar to get anywhere in the US.
I am just always thankful I do get what I ordered. It's a fairly amazing system.
