Looks like for the Am. crafts one you have to buy some sort of kit.
I will go with Martha but I really didn't want the extra holes. I got more holes than I wanted with the scallop.
I saw one at michaels but it looks like it makes an actual zig zag (like a strip). I'm just going to take it out of the package at the store and try it with some paper.

The Michaels one does just make a strip - I have it and like it but it won't leave you with just an edge although I guess you could just it and just toss the strip out - but you will loose more paper than just a regular border punch.
