Hello again! Here we are with the 9th sketch of the month so far! This month is whizzing by for sure! Here is my sketch for today. I have no idea where I got it because I printed it out years ago and found it in my 4x6 photos sketch book. And the "you do the math" twist: "subtract" aka remove a photo (or 6 like I did ) and add something else in it's place. I added 6 postcards because the museum did not allow any photography. You can use ephemera, postcards, whatever you like as long as it's not a photo. Here's my layout. It's a fairly simple one but I really am happy with how it turned out. You do not need to be on a team to play, but if you ARE looking for points... Take TWO points for using the sketch. Take ONE point for taking on the “addition” twist. Take a BONUS of FIVE points for doing BOTH on one project. Thanks for playing along!

Great!! I have so many beach photos that I need to scrap, and I need lots of double page multi photo sketches. This one is perfect!

I also have a load of holiday photos to be scrapped that will work with this sketch, great choice!
I love your layout, it's so simple, but there's still so much colour and interest, it's just lovely. We visited the Van Gogh museum, mostly because the line was pretty short when we were walking back to our hotel one night, and I loved that almond blossom painting in the bottom right corner.

I love a good two page sketch that includes lots of photos. Most of the time I am putting together two pages at a time anyway, and this ties them together nicely. Thank-you. And it should be easy enough to subtract a photo here or there. But when I click on your sample, jediannie, I get the message from Flickr that this photo is PRIVATE. Could you please change the privacy setting on that one?

jediannie Love your use of postcards! I have a few pages I can do this with, as the postcards are often MUCH better photos than you can take yourself. Like at Yellowstone, some of the zoos, etc. Simple and clean is great as the "art" is to shine on this page! I also appreciate the double page layouts . . . my fav!

Sketchtember 9 by scrappy rabbit, on Flickr I replaced two pictures with postcards and one picture with the journaling block. The title and stickers came from a scrapbooking kit that they were selling in the gift shop.

Linda I love (love!) that cluster and switching your photo sizes to the squares was a smart way to make this fit on your smaller background.

Linda , I love that green plaid tag with the tree in the cluster. Good job getting so many pic's on your smaller pages. jediannie , you used this page perfectly for a museum LO. Love the photos of the art, and your tan background is like a museum wall. scrappyrabbit , there is love in the Gallery. Here is my take on the sketch. I swapped out a photo for the PL card, and cut down some of my portrait pic's to fit in the spaces for landscape ones. And I put all the journaling strips actually ON strips at bottom right.
POINTS: two pages created & shared (4). SKETCHtember sketch (2), twist (1) and bonus (5). R-3 Eight photos (8) and two pages (10) for the Donna challenge. P-3 one pattern (1), P-5 journal card (1), P-6 blue and navy scraps (3), P-7 dots (1), S/I-2 three rectangular photos (3), C/M-1 blue (1), T-1 new die cutting plate, used twice (6)., W/T-7 journaling strips (1). Total: 47

scrappyrabbit - That patterned paper you chose is perfect for this layout! And I'm a huge hoarder of the National Park postcards, they are my favorite style. grammadee - Love the colorful layout! The green really makes the photos jump off the page.

linda thanks for the pictures of a lovely walk with your special people. I like your cluster. And your well taken photos. scrappyrabbit what a great layout for this challenge. You are sooo lucky to have postcards and photos for your trip. All the extra touches really add to your story. grammadee your background papers add so much and this is the perfect layout for all those photos. Hope you are enjoying her ukulele music. AussieMeg thanks for the mental trip to the beach! It was relaxing! So lovely and a good topic for a photo intensive sketch. jediannie when I first saw the sketch I was like, "umm, what do I do with that?" and then when I saw your example I was like "Oh wow!" I'm a postcard person, I love to get them on trips. I really, really enjoyed your layout.

Yeah, here is my version, another one for the engagement/post wedding album:
I subtracted a photo and made mine a bit smaller. In place of the photo I used stickers on patterned paper that are relevant to the theme of the page All the papers are ANCIENT HOTP Paper Pizzaz that came in tear apart books at Michaels in the late 90's. Except the glitter paper used for the title, mat, and heart fussy cut sticker.

- You're really getting me to love purple! It is my favorite color, and one of my wedding colors. So I scrap with it when I can, with boys and their toys it is not often!

angel97701 Another lovely, beautiful elegant layout as a sketch response. I like the touch of sparkle, the journal strips, the photo arrangement. Chinagirl828 Your photos stretched out like that really emphasizes how open the road is! I enjoyed seeing your photos displayed in the sketch setting.

Love how everyone took this sketch and made a wonderful layout! I struggle with three or four photos on a layout, not sure why. You all make it seem so easy! I did the left side of the sketch. I dug out my old October Afternoon Sasparilla papers and the old OA Sticky Keys letter stickers!

jediannie, thank you for this sketch. I don’t usually have many photos of events so this worked well to replace some of the photos with other elements. I love your Van Gogh museum page. The use of some of his art was a great idea. Beautiful. Linda, great job on this with all those photos on a small canvas. I love the use of the cluster of outdoor icons in place of the photo. Great job tying the pages together with the patterned paper that is repeated in the cluster tag. Fun pages of a family outing. scrappyrabbit, grammadee, angel97701 and AussieMeg, you have love in the gallery. jjpeapea, I love your title block! Adding a plant identification card was a brilliant idea. I love all the green in your photos against that soft blue background. Such a very pretty layout! MDscrapaholic, I struggle with lots of photos on a page too, but you did a beautiful job with this. I love the title in circles and each photo shows what fun that museum must be for children. Using the soft plaids and stripes lets the photos really pop. This is a great page to document a fun day. Here is mine. I replaced 4 photos with pictures from the movie. This is our son-in-law. Soul

MDscrapaholic - great use of your "vintage" paper! I have those typewriter key alphas, I need to use them! nylene - I'm glad you were able to make it work! Love the star background, it really helps make the photos and shots from the movie jump off the page.
