Besides former's slurred speech, I do not think he truly knows how to pray, certainly not for others.
His pronouns of choice are "I" and "me"...and his "we" means all those like his "me".

Biden: Grandpa Joe at his finest. Soft spoken, healing words. Multiple cuts which could indicate multiple takes.

I’m confused. I thought Trump didn’t attend the 9/11 commemoration events but spoke at a Moonies’ conference instead. (Because that’s inclusive.  ) Is that where this is from? Or did he record this 'speech' earlier? ETA I couldn’t listen to his voice for more than a minute or so, so apologies if it’s explained in the video. |

Knowing that he has speech issues, multiple takes wouldn’t bother me. It shows the current administration wants to put forward a clear message. |

Ok I’m Canadian so I have no dog in this fight. From the tone of the post, to me, it seems you are wanting us to see with our own eyes that Trump is great and Biden is not.
I’ve watched some of each video….and I don’t get what I’m supposed to be seeing. I see Trump reading a prepared speech, but made sure to talk smack about the current President. And I saw Biden speaking softly and calmly to the families of those lost.
Am I missing something?

One shouting a prepared speech, thinking that shows strength. Until he goes "off the rails" it's not his true self. Canned. (I didn't listen to it all so if you went off the rails and showed us true self later in the video it's unknown to me)
One more conversational and vunerable, talking, showing strength through caring and empathy. Do I agree with him always? Nope. Do I think he gives a damn about those other than himself more than the former "me, me, me-er"? Yes. Hell, yes.
And yeah, an actual separation of church and state would've refreshing.

You know, talk is cheap. It doesn’t matter what Trump says, he could say anything at all. He could apologise for being a self serving, loathsome individual. He could say that Biden is a good man. But look at his actions. Look at how he has always said one thing, then denied it 24 hours later. Look at how he never did a decent thing in the four years of his presidency, nor in the decades that preceded it. Why is this even still being discussed? If you can’t see what a con man he is OP, then I am sad for you. |

I'm going to respond without reading others comments.
My thoughts about Trump; he is so far from what a Christian should be, it is truly disgusting. He cannot even quote the Bible correctly. This is what the GOP has accepted as their savior. The only true "Christian" who can lead the nation. I don't believe he will be doing any praying and even if he does, it won't work. I'm sure there are other people who disagree that prayer works and that is fine. I appreciated the stories of the heroes of 9/11. However, it was completely insincere. Only 20 minutes after the towers went down, he bragged he now had the tallest building in Manhattan. He's a conman who tries to remain relevant, so the money will keep rolling in to pay his legal fees.
Onto his comments about Afghanistan. Trump released 5,000 Taliban. One of which is the new leader. He negotiated with the Taliban and invited them to Camp David the week of 9/11. He did not include the Afghan government. He declared that ISIS had been eliminated. He abandoned Kurds in Syria. Thousands of ISIS prisoners escaped. It was ISIS that did the bombing at the Kabul airport. That "mess" of an invasion was largely due to his agreement to retreat. Only 2500 troops were left in Afghanistan. He ignored bounties that were put on U.S. Soldiers by Putin. He did not do a peaceful transfer of power to Biden. He refused to give security briefs.
I appreciate Biden's honesty. He acknowledged most of us came together but peaceful Muslims were persecuted for the color of their skin, their accents, and their religion. When I listened to Trump's speech about the heroes of 9/11, I thought "he's not even going to mention the persecution of Muslims?", but then scolded myself for thinking that. He is the one who banned Muslims. I appreciate that Biden keeps his religion fairly private. He isn't GOD, GOD, GOD, pray, pray, pray fake like Trump. It isn't in your face. While Catholic, he doesn't let the teachings of the church interfere with how he leads a very diverse nation.

I mean, I guess that if you are religious, you might like what Trump said. I thought that Biden’s speech was more secular, so it appealed to me more. I also think that his speech was the more appropriate one for a President to give.
The moment that someone starts talking about religion, my ears close.

My take away from the two videos is Trump knows the only base he has left are white supremacists, billionaires and evangelicals. This was a propaganda video for the later. Biden is doing the best he can to try and help a very broken and divided country see we have more in common than not. Unlike **45, Biden actually believes we are all children of God, even Muslims.
I have to give Trump credit for knowing his place yesterday was to be nothing more than a color commentator at a boxing match. Nowhere near the memorial sites or our former POTUS. Of course he couldn't help making a couple "9-11" pit stops where he knew he would be very welcomed and could froth up some white men with badges. He is back to his carnival barker life, where he belongs. Anyone catch his disgraced former personal attorney and "Americas Mayor" at any of the memorial events? It's amazing how many people gave up their reputations and careers for snake oil.
