I don't usually read these type of threads, because they trigger my post traumtic stress related to my own marriage abuse. I've just read a few of the pages, just to get the pea consensus. My thoughts are..... He has never been in the swamp area. His Parents have assisted in his hiding. I think they likely drove him in the opposite direction, and he is likely deep in the mountain wilderness/woods, perhaps north in a southern state mountain areas. I read a lot (as well as watch movies), based on a somewhat recent read "28 summers" based on the "same time, next year", if he is not found in the forseeable future, then I think his Parents need to watched/undr surveillance in the long term future. My guess is they made an untraceable verbal pact, every 3? 6? 12? months rendevous at a specific location (waterfall, tree alongside mountain tree, underneath a bridge by the river, etc...) so his Parents could give him money, supplies, check in, etc... Since everything (calls, internet, bank accounts, credit cards, etc...) can be traced. His Parents could have given him any petty cash they had on hand as well as a duffle bag full of food and a pan, utensils, plate, etc....he could easily hide out for a few months while his appearance slowly alters (longer hair, unkempt beard) with a mask, sunglasses, hat, he could easily slip into a smaller type store to replenish his supplies. I hope that he is found. I hope that if his Parents are involved in his hiding, that they are prosecuted for that. I know from experience, that it is so hard to detach from a menacing abuser. The verbal abuse, and the emotional and mental mind games, are damaging and detrimental to the victims psyche. Especially when the abuser makes the victim believe that everything is the victims fault. May Miss Petito rest in peace, and her Family find comfort in their memories of her. May her abuser and those who have assisted in his hiding rot in eternal hell. I'm so sorry for what you've endured. Hugs to you.
As far as Brian's appearance, something rang out to me. Remember when he showed the cops his driver's license and he said, "This doesn't look like me, but it's me, I swear" (or something akin to that gyst) Weird to say that ahead of time.
Another thing is that during the same episode, he insisted that only Gabby has a cellphone and he uses hers. Then she asks the cops to tell him to remember to bring his charger to his phone. Hmm.......
I saw the camper in the parent's driveway. Did the cops thoroughly look through it??? The parents seem slimy. I have a feeling that they helped with Brian's disappearance and/or he never did come back to FL. We're going just on 1 neighbor's verification of seeing Brian mow the lawn, post 9/1??
I am with you that I am not sure that he came back to FL. There is a video on tik tok where they are theorizing that it looks more like the dad hiding in the van in that video where as they approach the van the back door shuts. Maybe the dad drove it back to Florida. My other theory is that Gabby's best friend drove it back. Has the lady who claims that she camped next to them and that there were 2 woman commented on if the other girl she saw was the best friend?

Saw on Twitter that local LE has issued a temporary flight restriction for WFLA news choppers over certain areas of the reserve - instead of being 400 ft, they are required now to stay atleast 1200Ft away in the reserve. Also the reserve has trail cams....

Just wanted to let everyone know that tonight (Saturday, September 25th) on 48 hours CBS at 10:00 pm Eastern time there will be a show called "Inside the Disappearance of Gabby and the Hunt for Brian". It will also be playing on Paramount Plus.
I've set my recorder to record the show on CBS.

Also the reserve has trail cams.... Thanks for confirming this. I assumed they did and thought this was the reason they were still so focussed on searching the reserve.

I’m just relieved/glad that they were able to charge him with something - even though it is just the debit/credit card charge - so that aiding him hide is also illegal.
There is absolutely no way that he would have charged/withdrew over $1K on that card if he was so distraught that he would suicide. I’m betting those purchases were mostly related to his escape plans.

I just saw that Dog the bounty hunter is in Florida. He was knocking on the parent's door. No answer, of course.

Someone estimated the miles from Wyoming to florida and approx mileage the van would have gotten, and the prices of gas add in a few red bulls and snacks for the long drive and it would be close to the $1,000 i can’t figure out if Dog Bounty Hunteris there in ernest or just as a publicity stunt.

I saw an interview with Dog the Bounty hunter. He had some pretty good opinions on where Brian could be. He made it sound like he was looking for him. I also saw a John Walsh interview. It was informative. But at the end he was saying he hoped that Brian offs himself. He is filled with rage at this guy.
I also saw a tic tocker compare a book Brian read to what Brian was doing and behaving. It's really eerie!

Saw the 48 Hours special. I thought it was wrought with errors. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Gabby break off the engagement to Brian PRIOR to their van trip??? I remember that she did, and even said something about still going forward with the trip, yet these news people are still referring to them as being engaged. Hmm......
Gabby's FL friend did say 1 thing that was interesting. She said that Gabby wanted a girl's night out with her and Brian didn't want her to go. The friend said that he was passive aggressive (or something to that effect) and that he simply took her driver's license out of her wallet so that she was unable to go to clubs that night. To me, that says a lot! He seemed to be VERY controlling.
The local FL news here reports on the case nightly. Survival specialists are saying that it's very difficult to live in that preserve for too long. People often eat the wrong berry/mushroom/food item and die. I, personally, doubted that Brian ever went to that preserve. If the parents pointed police in that direction (4 days AFTER he was missing from their home!), I truly believe that he went the opposite way. Actually, I still believe that Brian's father met him and drove the van home to FL, and sent Brian away (Mexico??) with fake I.D. Just a hunch.
I hope that the FBI or police get to the bottom of this and hold the parents accountable, and still look for Brian. Sounds like their attorney was involved from the get-go too!
There's a Wake for Gabby today on LI. So many people in so many towns on LI have all been involved in this loss. Prayers for both sets of Gabby's parents. <3

There was some talk on websleuths about the book Brain was reading. I haven't been on there in the last 2-3 days, and I don't remember the title but folks on there were saying it was a sci-fi book (I'm remembering this so I could be wrong), that it was a recent popular book and that it didn't have any connection with with domestic abuse or what Brian was doing or how he was behaving. I really wish I could remember the title. Did John Walsh mention the book?

birukitty BL was reading Lullaby by Chuck Palahniuk, who wrote Fight Club. The John Walsh interview with Ashley Banfield is on NewsNationNow youtu.be/V6Ps2uSXBxU If you don’t want to click the link just google what I typed above! As you can tell, I am over-invested in this case now and may have to step away myself- thank goodness I’m busy this week.

As you can tell, I am over-invested in this case now and may have to step away myself- thank goodness I’m busy this week. Thanks so much h2ohdog for getting back to me. I did catch the John Walsh interview with Ashley Banfield on NewNationNow by trolling though youtube. I thought it was a good interview and he has some great theories. I've never watched Ashley Banfield before but I liked her manner and composition on camera as she went over this case. I watched a few more of her shows on youtube on this case where she brought in a few other experts. Many of those experts believe Brian was never in that swamp. Thank you also for the name of the book. I went over to Goodreads to check it out. It's not the same book that the posters over on websleuths were talking about. It could very well be that he was spotted reading two books. "Lullaby" is the most concerning one for sure. What I learned from what I watched: After Brain returned from the west alone his parents bought a brand new camper top (most of you know this but I didn't understand what it was) for their red pickup and his parents and Brian took off in it for a 3 day camping trip! Why on earth would they go on a 3 day camping trip with their adult son in a very cramped pick up with a camper top, while their son's fiance is missing? The same fiance who lived in their own home for 2 years? This comes from their neighbors who told the police. John Walsh theorizes that this is when they took Brian away and gave him a chance to hide. It gave them 3 days to get wherever they decided to drop him off. I forgot what the day was that this happened. That's important I know. John Walsh thinks they traveled either north and let him off at the Appalachian Trail or traveled west and dropped him off near Mexico where Brian could have easily slipped across the border. He says he has found 45 (I think that's the right number) missing fugitives in Mexico that the police could not find. That he has connections in Mexico willing and able to help. That Mexico does not want someone like Brian. As for the Appalachian Trail he said that Brian is someone that is able to survive for months on that trail, but Brain isn't realizing the mass of social media and how the public is involved in this case. That he will be caught. When Ashley Banfield asked him if Brain was watching right now what would you like to tell him John Walsh said something like (my memory is terrible) The right thing to do would be to turn yourself in, but I know you won't do that because you are a coward. So do the next best thing. Kill yourself. Spare the parents of this beautiful girl that you took out of this world the agony of a trial. Spare them from sitting in the courtroom and having to see the photos of her body that the police found after so many days in the wild. You know what I got back when my son Adam disappeared? All I got back was his head. Spare these parents that agony. Kill yourself like the coward you are. That is why he suggested that Brain kill himself. I understand it now. He was thinking of Gabby's parents and his own experience. My heart aches for John Walsh, his family and for Gabby's family.

birukitty so sorry I haven't been on for a couple of days. I'm glad you found the info. I wanted to add a YT video where I saw them talking about the book and the creepy parallels. It's a very long video. Go to 19:57. YT videoAnd if you want to hear something wild, a caller says that she spoke with Brian's father several times on the phone. Not sure how reliable it is, but I definitely see his parents as being evil enough to actually call her. It's at about 2:20:30

I saw the title and in part it said, "a body in Pasco". I live in Pasco County, and that's NO SURPRISE. We've seen so many bodies since we moved here, that it's ridiculous and sad. That being said, if a body was discovered in Pasco, it could be a drop in the bucket (so to speak).

It's been a couple of rough days for me too. Sunday I had a upset stomach with the runs all day and Monday I had a migraine. Stuff happens. I'm much better today and back in the swing of things. Hope you are doing well too. Thanks so much for the link to the YT video. I haven't watched it yet but I certainly will check it out. It sounds very interesting.

Its breaking all over Long Island news here that Laundrie's mother had checked into a property when he first returned home. "NEW: News 12 Long Island has obtained the 9/6 visitor log for Fort De Soto Campground in Pinellas County, FL. It shows that Roberta Laundrie checked into the "waterfront." This is in between when Brian Laundrie returned home on 9/1 and when Gabby's family called her in as a missing person on 9/11."

What is now happening elsewhere... On Monday, September 20, liberal MSNBC host Joy Reid addressed media coverage of the Gabby Petito missing person case — stressing that while Petito, a 22-year-old white female, should certainly be covered, it's wrong that there isn't "the same media attention when people of color go missing." Reid's comments have inspired a great deal of discussion, and in the Bay Area, anchor Frank Somerville has been suspended by KTVU-TV Channel 2 (a Fox affiliate) after a dispute over a tagline that would have noted the disparity Reid pointed out.According to Bay Area News Group reporter Chuck Barney, "KTVU was prepared to air a news report detailing the latest developments in the case. Somerville wanted to add a brief tagline at the end of the report that questioned the extraordinary level of media coverage devoted to the story. Sources said he wanted to point out that the U.S. media often disproportionately covers tragedies involving young white women, while largely ignoring similar cases involving women of color and indigenous people."Barney reports that the 63-year-old Sommerville, whose adopted teenage daughter is Black, "was told that the tagline was inappropriate, and he apparently pushed back on it.""There was no word on how heated the discussion got," Barney notes. "Sources said that Somerville was informed by station management the next day that he was being suspended." www.rawstory.com/bay-area-fox-affiliate-suspends-anchor-who-wanted-to-point-out-racial-disparity-in-gabby-petito-coverage/
