Yay! My last stop was disappointing, though I did get a cute turquoise mini whisk.
You've given me hope that good stuff may return.

Excuse me while I drop everything and make a trip.
Haha, probably would if it wasn’t so close to school pick up.

My mom wanted to stop in for a new batch of jigsaw puzzles. After 8 visits leaving empty handed, I was pleasantly surprised. I got vb's mini Kaleidascope paper pad and a new pair of Cutterbee scissors! I left behind some 12 x 12 paper pads that weren't my vibe but it sure was nice to see a little bit of a selection!

The prices were a little higher, but that seems to be the case with everything.
I only bought the VB Mixed Media pad ($6.99) and EK Success wave border punch ($9.99)

If anyone sees the Amy Tan pad, could you post which one it was? Please. Thank you. I’m here now and they have one Amy Tan- Picnic in the Park. It’s $6.99 and Brave and Bold for the same. They have a Graphic 45 pad only 16 sheets $5.99, a couple 6x8 pads by Jen Hatfield and Maggie Holmes-$$3.99 Still very slim pickings. They also have a couple Big Shots $80 and WeR Memory Keepers Bloom Embellishment Storage $19.

I was at one by me this past weekend and was able to get the Totally Tiffany craft cart two pack bundle on clearance for about $32. Nothing new really though. I keep hoping. I definitely don't go as often as I used to.

I went back again today because I was headed to Costco (next door) and the check out gal said she thought she saw a bit of paper that had not been shelved.
“A bit” was pretty accurate. They added Graghic 45 Fashion Forward and Jen Hadfield Reaching Out (which I bought). So not sure I will be checking in weekly, but TM is not dead yet.

I went earlier in the week to a TM in town, we have several. This one used to have the best crafting section ever. This time? NOTHING. I'm disappointed, it was a great place to find good deals on stuff I'd actually use.

I picked up some Shimelle Never Grow Up and VB Art for Everyone pad. Still looking for a small to medium sized die cutting machine. The Big Shot is too big.
ETA: I went to both of mine and while they had a few things in common, lots of things were different, so maybe they didn't get a ton of product and just spread it around.
And there were maybe 4 of the specialty lines the Joann's sold a few months back.

Idk how true it is, but a friend told me she watched a video from someone who asked the manager at her TM what was going on. Apparently they're trying to bring crafts back after an onslaught of complaints from people pissed off about what they did to the department but that it may be slow going because a lot of businesses don't want to work with companies that have declared bankruptcy recently. I never bothered with that other than calling them out on socials where their media person lied and said they didn't plan to remove crafts ('it is an integral part of our business'...yeah right) the week before my store's manager told me they were decreasing the craft department by 10% per week for the foreseeable future. I mostly didn't expect complaining would yield results...so if this is true then I was very wrong.

I think it is interesting how the managers from different stores all say different things. I have two stores in town about 7 miles from each other and I always hear somewhat different information from the managers. I don't know if they are told different things or if they process what they heard differently or if they just tell you what you want to hear. My guess is that they realized how much money crafters spend. I generally don't go in unless I am looking for crafts, so any other money I might have spent there isn't happening because they don't have crafts. I doubt that people complaining did anything, but I do think if their revenue has shrunk considerably, they might go back to having more crafts.

Adding on to the manager conversation, last week I asked mine (who is has been at the store awhile) and he said he was unsure, but the last conference call he was on said they would be bringing back more crafts. And then this week the crafts/stationary/art supplies had all been placed on one shelving unit (from 3 last week). So if they will be getting crafts they certainly aren’t saving room for anything in the near future.

I stopped by yesterday and was surprised to see paper packs and pads that were new. There was a G45 with an April theme that had Iris on the back kind of a stained glass look, more brilliant colors than they have usually had for their papers. They also had a lovely lighter pink card stock that l think was Bazzill. I only had 5 minutes to even look.
It gives me hope that perhaps the higher ups may have realized crafters often would come in for crafts, and leave with additional goods besides.

I stopped in today for something else and half-heartedly checked what's left of the craft aisle.
They had Simple Stories collection packs for $9.99--Bro & Co, Kate & Ash and Apron Strings. (And a whole lot of old Karen Foster paper packs languishing in clearance).

My store used to be one long full row, both sides, including the yarn and fabric stuff. No stationery or wrapping paper. That was in a different row. Earlier this year the SB stuff dropped to 4 sections. Yesterday it was 4 feet wide!
Yeah, no. There was nothing I wanted. Same as others, a few packs of Simple Stories, Joann's Park Lane paper pads, off-brand stuff, and some packs of thin cardstock (Violet something). There were some rectangle Spellbinder dies, but none I wanted.

I did stop in and pick up the VB mixed media 12x12 pad. I had really liked it when it came out and for 6.99 that wasn't too bad. It was literally the only thing worth buying though.

Nothing new in Carlsbad, Ca. My Tuesday Morning’s craft aisle has actually gotten smaller. One side of an aisle and only 3 sections. One section is reading glasses. So sad. I am in and out of the store in a few minutes with zero purchases.
