We're shopping for a new microwave and are torn between a plain old run-of-the mill and one that has the convection and air fryer option. If anyone has one of these, how often do you use the added options and what is clean up like? We have an air fryer already so that would be one less appliance taking up space because I'd give it to one of the kids.
TIA for your advice.

I would purchase a regular microwave.
I wouldn't use the fancy features on a multiple use microwave, so I wouldn't want to spend the money on the upgrade.

If I had the money to spare, I would definitely get a convection microwave. They are very handy. In fact years ago, when my aunty moved into a new house, she got two convection microwave ovens instead of a normal oven.
I would LOVE to have a convection microwave with an air fryer option. I would use it daily.
DO IT!

I have an oven that has convection. I have no idea how to use it. The user manual is no help. So I wouldn't bother with a convection microwave.

My husband's office recently redid their kitchen and added the combo microwaves. He said they are a huge hit. I'm renovating my kitchen shortly and plan to put one in. Then I can get rid of the convection toaster oven and just have a regular (small) toaster. I suspect I'd use it all the time as I use both the microwave and the convection toaster oven multiple times a day.
