I was looking for a Santa and sleigh design this year, but the Sizzix die is no longer available. This will be perfect. I love the design team makes—so many nice color and texture combos. Can’t wait to try out the moon mask too.

Doesn’t this seem really expensive? And I agree, nice but nothing I haven’t seen before or at least similar.

Can’t wait to try out the moon mask too. i was lucky enough to find the sleigh die this year. i also have the different reindeer dies. it will be interesting to see how those designs look together when i get them all cut out.

Did not buy the cats last year, but I think they were about the same. Little higher than the normal sets for him, but on par with the Stamptember ones. Some of the other brands nave been crazy high this time.

Nice, except a Chinese company so probably stolen from whichever artist drew it. BTW, it's silicone, not photopolymer, so may not stamp well.

I was tempted but it's little too much out of my price range for a stamp set.

I have to vent about this. First off, I love all of Tim Holtz products. He’s a great designer that gives so much to his audience in his FB lives that are 2+ hours long and in other ways. Really, my annoyance is with SSS. For several years now, I have hesitated to buy from them because their prices are just so high. Their shopping is always crazy too. But with the release of today’s set, it’s just unreal to me how apparent their greed is. Come on, they knew it would sell out and it wouldn’t matter if it was more expensive than normal. The fans would buy it no matter what. Usually his sets are 24.95. This one was 39!! Yes, it’s limited edition but it just seems so “not cool” to the customers. It just really gripes me. Their plastic stencils are so outrageous - I just can’t stand it. I’m sure I’m in the minority but they seem to have gotten worse about this stuff. I hate to even buy from them now. It’s just sad because it feels like they are taking advantage. I love a lot of their own designs but I will just pass them by now. It would be nice if Stamptember would combine shipping and have good prices, too. I know that’s been discussed in the earlier thread. Thanks for reading.

Honestly, I thought I would miss their branded stuff much more than I do. I can usually find or make something close enough. And no one I make a card for is going to know the difference

What gets me is that they don't stock more. If it's truly one and done, why not have more available? Look at how quickly it sold out, even at those crazy prices and with people crying that they missed out. It doesn't make sense to me. Lower the price to $34.99 and they'd easily double or triple their sales. They'd still be making money selling in bulk and more people would have access to it.

The TH stamp sets do range in price-some of them are $29.99 retail, but I agree that between the mark-up on these Stamptember items and inflated shipping ($6.99 for one stamp set is nearly double what it actually costs to ship this one item), and lack of transparency in order shipping/inventory, they have “greeded” me out of being a customer. Plus SSS rarely has sales, so I can almost always get things cheaper elsewhere, and I will live without the SSS exclusives.

Yeah, $40 for one stamp set and 2 little circle masks that I could cut myself? I don't think so.

Some of the prices have shocked me too but I still buy items that are reasonably priced or good deals, and except during Stamptember there are often free shipping codes. Plus they have sales sometimes.
Would I buy more if pricing was better? Sure. And I comparison shop, though obviously not for their branded items.
Nothing to do with SSS, I was more annoyed at the lack of response/shutting people down over the Tim grammatical error on a stamp set, and lack of relying on experts about the database he created. My respect went down - and stayed down, which surprised me.

I liked the sentiments. I put it in my cart. Then I did the exchange...It would be almost $65 CAD with shipping. Thanks but no thanks. Not for 1 stamp set.

I had it in my cart and ended up passing. I like it, but it wasn't original enough and the price - wowza! I did get the TH cats last year as I'm a sucker for the style of those (plus the dogs and birds) so the value was there for me.
Have to say it's been much easier to not check into these FOMO offerings lately - and here is rare one that I did and passed anyway *yay me*!

Its nice to see I’m not the only one who feels this way. I have started really evaluating whether I can get a lot of use from a set before buying. I have found some cool fonts on Pinterest and just computer generate the same sentiment. Since I’ve been stamping so long 25+ years, I have plenty I can make work and save the money for inks, paper, etc. (I can’t think of the word I want to use but it’s similar to replenish-able).

I actually did buy the set. I don't have a lot of Tim's holiday stamps and I really wanted the Santa. The DT designs were great!
That said, it may not be SSS making the price of the sets, his, and any other for that matter. I know they are marked up, but the companies have to only make them for Stamptember. Even if they make a certain number, they want them to sell out. I do agree that they should make more, but who knows what the magic number is? The sets don't get sold and reproduced for other stores to buy, so it is probably more expensive for the companies to produce them as one time stamp sets.

I know about the grammatical error stamp set thing, but I didn't hear the controversy about the database (I assume you're talking about The Index?). Please share!

I guess I missed the whole grammatical error issue. I am not surprised the TH fan club defended him though. They are cutthroat about any perceived negativity toward anything he makes or does.
I have too much TH stuff, but I’m also the kind of person who calls a spade a spade. Grammar is important particularly when we are making cards and albums where these sentiments are often the focal point.

I stopped buying from them over their unreasonable shipping prices and practices. Paying $8 to ship 2 stamps, one would assume that is priority delivery. Nope, first class. I've shipped enough to know that there is no way it cost $8 for postage and an envelope. They also consistently put paper in padded envelopes, always arrives bent. I'm able to return it at my cost for postage. All done.
I want to know the grammar error too.
