Today’s sketch is brought to you again by Allison Davis Today’s twist is black and white. This was way harder than I thought it would be! When I saw these pics of painting my daughter’s senior parking spot, I knew I could use black and white and let that beautiful blue pop out of the photos. The paper strips on the sketch reminded me of rolling paint so I went in that direction with some mixed media. I also used my silhouette to cut out the exact flowers we used on a much smaller scale out of a few scraps. I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Edit to add points! You do not need to be on a team to play, but if you ARE looking for points... Take TWO points for using the sketch. Take ONE point for taking on the black and white twist. Take a BONUS of FIVE points for doing BOTH on one project.

I've just finished #20 and was excited when I saw you were up next, because I knew you'd post early! Great sketch, and I really love that you've used paint instead of paper banners. Hmmmmm, I might have to copy that idea!

Well. I think I was more inspired by your example than the sketch schroema ! I really do like the sketch too, so I might have to do another layout using banners and strips instead of paint. Anyway, here is mine. I didn't get the twist in, but I did add a few touches of black and white.

Soooooooo, I do have the perfect photos for this. My son's graduation. To get the twist we can use Black and White. My question, is it okay if the is a small amount of red? Black, red and white are the school colors! Thanks schroema

I turned this into a one-page - I always love using scraps and black and white so this was a fun one to work on.

schroema your painted stripes are awesome and I love that you've used the same flower in your embellishments. Linda the b&w was a great choice for your photos, I love how the yellow in both the photos and the title really pop.

linda , very cute black and white patterned paper behind your photos. I like the yellow title and the bolt filling the O is such a nice touch. AussieMeg I love how the paint lines inspired you and your colors and the joy in your layout. schroema Thank you for the sketch and layout. I love your paintbrush strokes and how the parking spot painting gets to shine.

AussieMeg I absolutely love your colour splatters! So fun! Soooooooo, I do have the perfect photos for this. My son's graduation. To get the twist we can use Black and White. My question, is it okay if the is a small amount of red? Black, red and white are the school colors! Thanks schroemaI think I’m going hard core on no color just because this was really hard for me! Plus my challenge next week is going to be another color twist that may fit your photos better if you want to add a third color.

I decided to do another layout using this sketch, this time with the banners and strips. Again no twist, because I wanted to use this kit with the beach photos.

Sketch 21 by scrappy rabbit, on Flickr Not even close on the twist, but I got the sketch pretty well! Using Echo Parks “Summer Adventure” 6x6 paper pad and pics from Yosemite.

AussieMeg so many pretty strips in my current favorite, aqua. I could use some beach therapy. Like just sitting on the beach would be very therapeutic. scrappyrabbit such beautiful photos! I like how your strips compliment each other and support the theme.

jjpeapea you did a great job keeping everything b&w! I love the gear embellishments - so perfect for your story. I'm off to leave praise in the gallery for everyone else.

schroema thank you for the sketch. Your version is great. I really like the paint strokes as your background. They go perfectly with your photos and subject. The paint is a nice substitute for the banners. Linda , your black and white banners behind the photos are exactly right. I really like the use of the wrench and the nut as accents. It looks like they know what they are doing with that mower. Nice use of the sketch! jjpeapea , this sketch was perfect for your bicycle photos. I had to chuckle at your “chain tattoo”. That’s a perfect description of that little hindrance of biking. I must remember it. Great page. AussieMeg and @scrappy rabbit, you have love in the gallery. Here is mine. I couldn't keep it entirely black and white, but just added little touches of color. Cutie Pie by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Here is my take on this sketch. No twist here, could not do black and white. Been wanting to use this "horded" collection of old S.E.I paper, sister sent me photos of the father I never knew, so I was able to use this retro collection for many of these vintage photos. Remember my photos are temporary printed on printer paper as I order the prints after I create the pages.

Sorry, not sorry but couldn't just stick to black and white! I had purchased specialty printed paper from Custom Scrapbooking to scrap graduations . . . the paper has red, so I went with it and didn't do the twist. All the papers are from about 2018

I'm playing catch up on some of the sketches I didn't get finished in Sept. Here's my take on this one (and those paper strips are actually straight and even irl, it's just a terrible scan).
