Yeah yeah I know this is one of those “there she goes again” threads.
But I tell you that unless there is a miracle in the 9th inning the Republicans are going to deliberately tank the economy.
The debt limit needs to be increased. Mitch McConnell has already said Republicans in the Senate won’t vote to increase the debt limit, the Democrats are on their own.
And if I’m not mistaken the Democrats joined the Republicans in increasing the debt limit under former.
But yet, while the country is still struggling to get out of this pandemic the Republicans, by not increasing the debt limit. Well to describe what will happen…

Now why would a political party do that to the country especially when it’s struggling to shake off the effects of the pandemic? Which they are helping to prolong by their actions involving the vaccine & mask mandates.
So the only conclusion one can draw is they really really hate this country. I mean seriously what else can you think.
I do understand the importance of bringing down our debt and have said as much to the annoyance of some progressives on the board. But this pandemic has knocked us on our ass and this is the time to spend money. And not the time to default on the debt.
If you have Republican Senators now would be a good time to give them a ringy-dingy and tell them to vote for that increase in the debt.

By not raising the debt ceiling, republicans are trying to sabotage Biden and the Democratic Party. If the economy gets fucked up, they will blame Biden and every serving Democrat for it. They think that will make them look better for 2022 and 2024. It doesn’t matter to them if the economy tanks. The rich will be fine.
Just like covid right now. The more people who die, the more they can try to blame Biden.
They thirst for power and don’t care what they ruin to get it. Even if it’s this country. They want to institute their own kind of government anyways. Where white reigns supreme, women, POC, gay, trans, and non-Christians are second class citizens, and they and their rich friends just gain more money and power.

Just look at all the republicans in both the house and senate who have voted against literally everything that has come through that would actually help many people (even all the white, straight, male citizens) in their states. I was in a discussion, had just posted response to it and was busy pounding out another when I dawned on me this thread was going in a direction I didn’t necessarily want it to go and I was helping it. So I deleted what I was working on and the post I was just posted. Its a no brainer that the Republicans will blame everything that goes wrong on Democrats even if they are the cause. It’s a no brainer the Republicans are grabbing as much power as they can, anyway they can. But what’s their endgame? I could never come up with an answer to that until yesterday when I read two little sentences and things started click into place. The Republicans in Congress have pretty much been sabotaging the Federal Government for years. After the ACA was passed the only real legislation that has been passed was done in crisis mode. Well other than former’s tax cut. And the road block was and is the Republicans. It’s amazing McConnell could still fit inside his office with all the bills Pelosi got passed in the House and sent to the Senate where they just sat there in McConnell’s office. So to speak. Then COVID-19 appeared. From the very beginning that should have been “rally around the fly moment with sayings like we are all in this together”. But from the very beginning trump had other ideas and eventually he and not only the Republicans in Congress but Republican States turned this into a political football and another change to own the “libs”. Now we have a debt ceiling that needs to be increased or the economy will tank. And the Republicans in the Senate, at least at this point, have said they will not vote for increasing the limit. Each of the three examples are hurting and will hurt the people and the country. And in the case of COVID it’s actually killing people. The collateral damage for this power grab and indifference to governing is high. Are the Republicans that callous or do they think it’s worth the price if they can each their ultimate goal. Which is? Then I read those two sentences. A date has been set at the Supreme Court to pretty much determine if Roe v Wade lives or dies. I was reading tweet that said what the date was. Then went on to say there are two lawyers writing I think it’s called an amicus brief to start the ball rolling to overturn same sex marriages. Get rid of abortions and get rid of same sex marriages. Then it hit me. The Republicans don’t want/like a country where women can get abortions or where two men or two women can get married, or a country that doesn’t have a white majority. So, IMO, they have no problem destroying that country if they think they can “build back better” to steal a Biden Slogan. But they are taking an awful risk if they think they can build back the country they way they want it or any way for that matter. But they don’t care and any group that is willing to destroy a country must really hate it. IMO. |
