Can we discuss? What was the process to determine if it was cancerous? Any symptoms? Did u have surgery to remove?

I had no symptoms. It was found on an ultrasound for other purposes.
We watched it for a few months and because I was not a good surgical candidate at that time they suggested aspiration.
It was not cancerous and after 6 months had disappeared.

I had to have mine removed because it was large and was twisting my fallopian tube. It has been a long time ago and I had an open surgery but now I think they do surgeries like that with a laproscopcially (sp?).

I did have a large grapefruit sized cyst removed in 2005...I had a bikini incision and they wound up removing the ovary the cyst was attached to. At the time, I did not have any pain or other symptoms. It was discovered during a routine exam.
Fast forward to last year, and I was anemic, and sent to a specialist when I didn't improve with iron supplements. I was losing weight (but doing Weight Watchers), looked bloated (had a customer ask me when my baby was due, see that thread) had urinary incontinence, felt full after only eating a few bites, and had a really bad case of acid reflux (which is what got me to the doctor in the first place.) I had a CT scan and they found another tumor as well as fluid in my abdomen and lungs. I did have a guided CT needle biopsy, and was diagnosed with ovarian cancer (Stage IV). Surgery (hysterectomy and debulking) and chemo followed and I am happy to report that I am now cancer free!
Symptoms for ovarian cancer can mimic other things, so if you have any of the above symptoms please see a gynecological oncologist. They have more specialized training in identifying and treating than a regular gynecologist.
Please feel free to ask me any questions (here or via PM)
Good luck!
Edited to add, my gynecological oncologist thought my cyst back in 2005 and my cancer were unrelated.
