I answered Other. Since Halloween is on a Sunday this year trick or treating will be on Saturday in my area. We'll be out of town until Saturday night so we'll miss the trick or treaters. If we were going to be home I would have answered Yes. Heck, in Utah they trick or treated last year so I fully expect T or T-ing this year. I always find it fascinating that towns dictate when trick or treating is, whether it be the day or time Of all the things I’ve learned from the peas, this is the most fascinating to me. I mean, it’s super inconvenient to have Halloween fall on a weeknight but to actually move tot-ing is crazy. I’m kind of impressed that years ago some town officials decided to move it and everyone still goes along with it.

We always had TorT on the 31st, didn’t matter what day of the week that was. As for time, it was usually after it got dark, which back when DST was the first week of October, was around 5PM. We never had anyone come to our door before 5PM.

My development is doing Trunk or Treat the weekend before and my GK are coming. They did ToT last year and will again this year.

Yes. We will have a table set up blocking ourfront entry area with 2 buckets and a sign that says tricks and treats. One bucket will have candy goody bags and the other sensory, non food goody bags. Last year we did not pass out anything. Can you give me examples of sensory non-food goodies?

I don't know, but I will have my lights off, due to COVID and the fact that our immune systems are down due to being at home for so long. We're all much more susceptible to colds and the flu. Sorry kids. When things get healthier I'll turn on my lights and hand out candy, once again.

Most likely! We did it last year and was fine. It’s easy to stay away from people and lots of houses had candy up front. We were fine with the kids running up to grab the candy, but they also had masks on. We made a candy shoot last year that everyone loved so may do that again.

Squish balls - aka stress balls Spinners or other fidget toys Stickers Play dough - I get small ones Pencils or pens with fuzzy balls at the end Fuzzy Keychain balls - my daughter has several and they are a thing here with teens and its an easy item for her to play with and not stand out Slap bracelets Stretchy figures

I am a big lover of Halloween and there's no way your are going to keep me from handing out candy and watching the kids.
Last year I prepackaged candy bags in brown paper lunch sacks decorated with Halloween stickers.
I have a landscaping wall made of bricks and I set the bags on the bricks. And I sat on my front porch and just directed the kids to the bags. So they didn't have to get near me. And I will do the same this year.
In my township trick or treat is always on the 31st and then do the emergency siren at 6 pm to begin and then do the siren again at 8 pm to let everyone know it's done. I like having a set time.

It's almost like . . . the government . . . telling you what to do . . . . . . . . . . Weirdly, no one bitches about it. Wear a mask tho?

I like that idea for a start and end time. We sometimes get kids up until 9-10 pm and that’s too late.

We opted out last year, and I think we probably will this year as well. We usually get less than 20 kids anyway.
Last year one of Dh's FB friends took her kids out trick or treating even though someone in their so called bubble (at least 4 households, 15+ people) had just tested positive. She then tested positive the next day.
