I have been looking through some of my scrapbooks and there are quite a few pages where the adhesive is failing. They are crispy and if you move them or turn the page, the pictures and/or paper come unglued. I have used various adhesives over the years so who knows which one(s) did this.
What are your tried and true, long standing adhesives that have worked well for you? Thanks!

I've been using photo squares for nearly 20 years now - I don't care for repositionable but the permanent ones work well.

I've been scrapping for nearly 18 years, and the pages that I used Scotch double sided permanent tape on, and Scotch liquid glue, are all still holding tight.
That's what I still use to this day.

I too used various adhesives before I got my ATG 15 years ago. - lots are dried up and "crispy", especially some of the photo "splits" (squares of double sided tape) and herma. The koyuko seems OK. The ATG is still holding strong.
On foam (like thickers), only wet glue seems 100% reliable.

Another Scotch double sided tape user. I have 18 year old pages still holding well. I know it isn't popular (everyone seems to use something scrapbook-specific) but it really works for me.

I’m afraid to go and look at older albums, but I guess I should…

I've used a mixture of scotch double-sided tape and my ATG. Both seem to be fine. I've started using a wet glue on Thickers, it's the Nuovo deluxe adhesive and so far so good.

I should probably go through my old scrapbooks. I can't remember what I used back in the day, probably photo splits.
I have noticed that stickers sheets older than 5-6 years have completely lost their stick. This is especially true of anything AC. I now add adhesive when using their products.

I use Scor-Tape. It's a bit time consuming to apply as it's a double-sided tape, and once something is down, it is stuck, so there is no wiggle room for repositioning, but it works well for most things. I have used some tape runners in the past that have not held up, so I am a bit more cautious when I use them.
I also tend to use Glossy Accents as a glue for things, and it has worked well for me, but I largely despise the mess of wet glue and will use tape whenever I can.

My ATG tape is doing well. I only use the "gold" version for my scrapbooks but I use the cheaper version for card making which doesn't need the longevity.

I started with Yes glue and those layouts are not budging. That was back in 1994. I can’t remember when I switched to Herma. I have had a few that I used the squares on start to lift/slip. I’ve been going back and adding liquid glue to those. The ones with Herma dots are still holding up well.

The only things I’ve ever had come undone was xyron or crappy glue sticks. Everything else seems to be holding up fine

The only things I’ve ever had come undone was xyron or crappy glue sticks. I haven't had issues with xyron (permanent) but yes, I first started with scrapbooking sticks and...they've come loose in places and worse - discoloured the cardstock

ATG for years and years. And I used the Tape Jungle/Depot refill rolls with no problems.

My oldest albums are all made with Creative Memories adhesives and I've never had anything become unstuck.

I used Creative Memories photo splits and tape runners on my oldest scrapbooks from the 90s, and those are still fine. But I’ve had to go back and use more adhesive on layouts that have Hermafix and Kokuyo adhesive. Now I use either wet adhesive or the 3L EZ Runner. Hopefully they will hold up.

My oldest books are a mix of CM adhesive and Scotch double stick photo squares. The CM is fine, but the photo squares have unstuck.

I've had that happen with older pages, also. It's exasperating to think of the $ spent on that adhesive that couldn't even last a decade.
I've been using the Scotch 3m gold tape for atg's for awhile now. That stuff is not budging.

I've always used photo squares, but have switched over to the ATG. I like it much better. Things don't fall off at all.

I've been using my ATG with acid-free adhesive since before the pink ones came out on the market. Before that, I used Kokuyo and Tombow adhesives. I have albums that are 20 years old, and nothing has fallen off or dried out.

I used ATG for about a year in 2012ish and those albums are in good standing. I found some gross sticky goo in a 2017 album from ATG, when I used it to adhere rubber embellishments to the outside of the page protectors. What a sticky ness that was to clean up.

Rubber embellishments don’t play well with most adhesives. I think only redline tape doesn’t react with them. I stopped using them just for that reason. It makes such a mess when they break down!

I still love the Tombo clear glue and their tape runners, Scor Tape & for making albums and Art glitter glue. A long time ago K & Co used to make tape runners I think called Tacky Tape that stuff was awesome.

Anything I used the Zig Blue 2-way glue (the one that had the chisel and fine tips) has NOT held up. Photo squares on textured cardstock come up easily.
I’ve used Tombow mono multi liquid (with the green cap) for years and it’s held up well. It’s my go-to.

Another ATG user here. They’re still holding strong. I switched to this and seems to be the best so far. Unfortuantly I have some scrapbooks from 20 years ago where I used glue sticks. Yeah, don't do that.
