I mean it sounds good, but if you're going to call someone out on mass shootings at least get the place correct. It's Sutherland Springs, not Sunderland Springs.

I don’t know who this guy is, but at this point I’m starting to believe the devil himself would be a better option than the current Gov/Lt. Gov there.

I honestly don't know anything about him, but he has to be better than the guy who told seniors they should be willing to die for the economy.

From Wikipedia During the 2002 midterm elections, Dowd was a senior adviser to the Republican National Committee.[citation needed] During the 2004 presidential election, Dowd was chief strategist for George W. Bush's re-election campaign.[6] Dowd was the strategist for Arnold Schwarzenegger during his 2006 reelection campaign.

That MAY make him more credible to Republicans here, but if he's ever said a word about a woman's right to choose or sensible gun control, they will skewer him as a gun-hating baby killer.

I only know him as being a political commentator/analyst on ABC but he hasn't been on in quite a while. He never struck me as having Republican ideologies so I'm guessing he moved left in 2016 as I have agreed with most of what he said when he was on TV.
I do believe he is or was dating Maria Shriver as well.

Dowd was the strategist for Arnold Schwarzenegger during his 2006 reelection campaign. I recognize his name as a pundit but didn't realize his background was as a GOP strategist. I also connect his name with Maria Shriver and thought they were still in a relationship but I guess I haven't been paying attention. I found it interesting that he has identified as Independent since 2008, so it wasn't Trump that made him walk away from the GOP.

He is well spoken and stands for common sense values? Well that's going to make it an extremely difficult journey for him.

I’ll stick with Mike Collier, he’s good, has been doing the work and is a solid Dem. I don’t need another Bush guy in Texas or another conservative regardless of the letter by their name. Dowd is fine as a pundit but that’s not good enough for me. Obviously, I wouldn’t vote for Patrick.

Collier would definitely be my pick as he’s an actual Democrat. Will be interesting to see if they both make it to the primary. For those who don’t know, LG is more important here than it might be in other states, as he basically acts as Senate majority leader, deciding which bills get brought to the floor. It’s a very influential job.
