Me, coming way too late to the party: Soooo, who's got the photos saved? Didn't SugarPea have a stamp set with critters in war bonnets with teepees and turkeys? It definitely was eyebrow-raising to me, a European who has never celebrated Thanksgiving. Just watching the Addams Family Values should be enough to know that's not ok... ETA: SugarPea's got an Indian Summer stamp set. It's worse than I remember. This stamp set is every bit as bad as BB's collection. I am super shocked that these are still for sale and haven't been taken down. I did reach out to the company. sugarpeadesigns.com/pages/contact-us and let them know that I found them offensive and culturally insensitive.

I was just going to add that this stamp set also has an arrow with the word "How" across it. The word "How" is a pop culture Anglicization of the Lakota word háu, a Lakota language greeting by men to men. The term how is often found in stereotypical and outdated depictions of Native Americans, made by non-Natives, in some Hollywood movies and various novels, e.g. those of James Fenimore Cooper or Karl May.

I saved a few images HERE. That’s a big yikes from me dawg. It’s encouraging that people are speaking and vendors (Matt from acot) are hearing those concerns.

That's a more decent response from Bella Blvd than I expected. It's nice to know ACOT and scrapbook.com also listened to their customers. This was handled well and I know I learned some things, hopefully others did too.

And yet this collection can happen. You are telling me no one realized that it was problematic? I'm boggled. Shows how they were either 1) deep in their bubble and/or 2) didn't care enough to do the work. I'm very glad they've stopped it. But wow.

Link goes to Page not Found for me so maybe they've taken it down.

Late to this discussion, but I had the same reaction to Photoplay’s “Wild Love” collection.

Late to this discussion, but I had the same reaction to Photoplay’s “Wild Love” collection. Another good example. I remember thinking it was problematic when it came out. That's why I said above that some companies are breathing a sigh of relief because they flew under the radar when they did the same thing.

Late to this discussion, but I had the same reaction to Photoplay’s “Wild Love” collection. Wow, I somehow missed that when it came out. It is really bad, too. I got my new Not Just For Boys kit. It is so beautiful- I can't wait to work with it. But it has those darn dreamcatchers as embellishments. It bugs me to death because they are so pretty but I just can't use them.
