I am most definitely not their target market so these are all an easy pass for me. I do think the rainbow stripe paper in My Tribe is pretty though for people who like that sort of thing.

It's a pass for me too. I'm more traditional with colors for the holidays.

When I saw My Tribe, I gasped. I can't believe a company would put out a product that is so culturally inappropriate. The word "tribe" is problematic and the animals wearing feathers and war paint are really problematic. I just can't deal with insensitive stereotypical images of things that have spiritual importance to indigenous people. The animals are cute but the feathers and war paint are definitely not cute.
I ran into that this morning when I was looking at the new things that Not Just For Boys Kit Club released today. One of the kits has dreamcatchers as embellishments. Dreamcatchers have spiritual significance to some native cultures- they aren't to be used as decoration for a scrapbook page. Ugh.
Okay, off that rant.
I'm not Christian, so Let Us Adore Him is not for me. It is cute, though. I do like the puffy stickers- I can repurpose them.
The Birthday Boy and Halloween Value Bundle are possibilities. I don't need the girl one and I think the Christmas one is kind of ugly. I do love the mix of embellishments that come with them, though. I love embellishments.

Hard pass from me - I agree with artbabe that My Tribe is problematic at best. That alone would make me pass. But truthfully none of the collections are my style or colours

I was coming to post that...well...more a..."does anyone else think this is problematic?" approach because I'm wussy that way I agree that the animals are so so cute...but absolutely WRONG! Canada just had it's first annual "National Day for Truth and Reconciliation" yesterday. We all wore orange shirts to symbolize the trouble with the residential schools here. And yet this collection can happen.

corrected my post
OMG. I can't believe a company can be so culterally insensitive as to use Native American symbols like the feathers and headband on animals.
They need to pull that line.
There was nothing I wanted to buy from the other lines. They are too juvenile and actually look more like Doodle Bug to me.
I am going to message , BB about how insensitive and offensive I find it.
I hope Matt at ACOT (A Cherry On Top) sees this thread. They should refuse to sell it.

Tribal appropriation is a no go for me. I’m shocked and sad to see this.
Bella has started to look more and more like Doodlebug since they took over. It’s gone from bright fun colors with cleanish designs to the overly cutesy. Not for me.

I'm always puzzled by things like this. In the process of making that paper line, how many people had to see it or work on it? You are telling me no one realized that it was problematic? I'm boggled.
And then retailers are buying it? It is just crazy to me.
I don't understand how people don't recognize racism towards indigenous people. I would think we would be better educated on that. Even sports (finally) are addressing it. Although there were some people at Kansas City Chief games that didn't get the message- I saw so many tomahawk chops.

Cannot believe anyone thought that was ok. Yikes.

I'm not their target market and I don't think I have ever bought anything from Bella Blvd, it's just too cutesy and little kid for me.
I'm pretty surprised to see the tribe stuff, I thought it was pretty well known that's a no no anymore. I do like the color scheme and the rainbow paper in it.

Oh, great! It worked. My Tribe, Bella Blvd, and their response get a no from me. Especially the “we feel” part of their response. No thought about the feelings of the people whose culture is being disrespected.

I wish those animals were without the Tribe aspect because the animals are cute and I would be buying them. If your kids are in religious Christmas programs I could see the Let Us Adore Him being perfect.

Thanks for the tag. I'll admit that I didn't look at this line very closely as we received the info last minute and were rushing to get it online. I agree with many of the sentiments here and we've decided to take it down.

Well that didn’t take long. They’ve already scrubbed IG of your comment and their response. I hope other retailers decline to carry the offensive collection. It seems incredibly tone deaf to do otherwise. I applaud ACOT for removing My Tribe. Bella Blvd should look into hiring a diversity & inclusion consultant. They clearly need the help.
