Happy World Card Making Day! My challenges this month are for you to create cards with scenes on them. You can create your scenes however you want: stamps, die cuts, ink blending, stickers, watercolour, anything. Today's challenge is to do a spring scene. The twist is to include a flower. Here is my sample made using a Hero Arts stamp set and ink blending. I added the washi because somehow my card panel was cut too short. CARDtober October 2

Your card is beautiful! I'm terrible at creating scenes, so I'll have to really think on this.

I made my card for the challenge this morning, but forgot at first about the twist. By the time I remembered, I’d already done everything except coloring the stamped images, so I just stamped small flowers onto the umbrella.

Here’s mine! I don’t really do screens on card so this was tough for. I als tend to do quite a bit with the Cricut and die cut, so I added a little, and some from the and put this together. I am going to send to a friends young teen daughter who at St. Luke’s going through a round of chemo. I will dropping it off with a gift card she can use in the hospital in the cafeteria for snacks and drinks, and the gift shop for more fun shopping. I am also bringing her some fun fancy coloring book and markers for spending the time when no one is around.

Nice use of your Cricut, katiekaty, and I’m sure that your daughter’s friend will really appreciate both the card and other things you are doing for her. It’s hard for a young person (or anyone) to have to go through chemo, but I hope she recovers fully and quickly.

I have sets of nested dies in circles, rectangles, squares, triangles and love how these can be used in this way.

Hands down, one of my all time favorite dies. Total pain to cut but the end result is well worth it. (Never mind the mess it makes!) Background is paper from my stash

So many cool ways to create a scene...
iowagirl50147, that diecut is stunning against that pretty dawn(?) sky.
katiekaty, that diecut scene has a timeless look. Love the bling.
jjpeapea, did you stamp those spring flower? Really pretty. And I love the butterfly.
Here is my spring scene, justjac. For a fall anniversary, but it works for my horsey ds and ddil.

Your horsey anniversary card is so cute, grammadee! I like your torn grass, and that it’s a slimline. I struggle a bit with doing paper tearing as well as doing slimline cards

azcrafty so pretty! with the delicate colors and I love the triple mat technique adding so much interest. katiekaty very cute with all the layers. Like the grid is over the cloud and then behind the flowers. Then the sun is over the cloud. And I love that everything is cut from patterns that play together. Blessings on your young friend. She will feel your love and caring. iowagirl50147 lovely! I'm imagining all those little delicate pieces WOW I'm glue challenged, it looks so good. I like the silhouette effect like when you take a picture at dusk. Or dawn! grammadee I like how you took advantage of slimline to make a cute spring pasture scene. I can tell your horsies are in love. Yes, I did stamp the flowers and the butterfly is a punch over a stamp for depth.

Thanks justjac for this challenge. I love your serene feeling pond with the little frog. You have love in the gallery. scrapnnana, your little girl with her umbrella is so sweet. I’m glad you added the flowers to the umbrella. That really drew my eye to her. Lovely card. jjpeapea, your card is so pretty. I love the yellow outline that draws the eye to your flowers. Is your greenery colored or is it stamped? The bright butterfly is perfect. It makes a beautiful card. azcrafty, your card is gorgeous. You have love in the gallery. katiekaty, I love your card. I especially love all the doodling you have done around your cut outs. I love your artwork on the sentiment too. Wonderful job! iowagirl50147, I love the color of your background. It looks inked but I see that you say it is paper. I love, love, love silhouettes and this card is so beautiful. I love the flowers, the greenery and those adorable butterflies. Fabulous job. grammadee, love the horses! There is love in the gallery. Here is mine. It's not at all original, but I have had these stamps for several years and have not used them. I decided it was time to try out stamping again. I am really stamping-challenged but this one was kind of fun. Tree and Bicycle Spring

nylene your spring scene is so pretty! The ink matching the paper, the great stamping (that bike must have been tricky) and the little 3D matching flowers. So complete.

iowagirl50147, I thought your card was stamped, but it’s a die cut? That would be a pain, but it’s a beautiful and striking card. nylene, you did a great job stamping the scene. I never would have guessed you feel stamp challenged. I like the pop of the pink flowers at the bottom, like blossoms that have fallen.
