We are a multi faith family and I’ve done DD for years. A couple years ago I returned to my roots and embraced Judaism, which became kind a random blue/white/yellow mini theme in a sea of Christmas colors. Which isn’t the end of the world but this year Hanukkah starts in November, so I’ll maybe start early. I’d love any tips if there are other Jews here!!

I'm not Jewish but we do light our Menorah every Hanukkah. It was one of my pages in DD. Hanukkah is Nov 28 thru Dec 6, so I have pencilled in Dec 6 as my menorah picture day.

My mother is Jewish and my father isn't, so growing up we celebrated both. As an adult, we really only do non-denominational Christmas, but occasionally I do add little nods to my heritage. One year when Hanukkah was in December I decided to document it every day by adding candles to my pages. I found a little candle stamp and stamped out enough candles for all the days and then just included them in my page for the day, even though they weren't the focus of the story, so 1 candle on day 1, 2 candles on day 2, etc.

I would be interested in seeing this as well. As someone who grew up Jewish (both my mother and father are Jewish) and I married a Jew, I don't do DD. I have always thought it would be amazing to do it but Chanukah was never a really big holiday for my family. We never decorated and sometimes even missed the first few days.

I'm not Jewish, however, my son's best friend through elementary school is, as is his mom. She and I have continued our friendship through the years, after the boys grew apart, and she continues to be one of my best friends. So, over the last 12-14 years, there are definitely pages in my albums including Jewish traditions and meaningful ways I or we celebrated with them. We also have very good friends from both Zimbabwe and Ghana. They are Christians, however we have enjoyed a less Germanic version of Christmas tradition with them. The month of December is special for so many reasons. I'm so thankful for the people we share it with, and their traditions they share with us.

I don’t do DD. However we are a ‘mixed’ family and somehow over the years I’ve scrapped more Hanukkah than Christmas. Perhaps because I had the tools because if I came across Hanukkah stuff I bought I since it’s semi rare. I mean no one releases a Hanukkah set every year. I have about equal tools for both holidays now but back then I mostly had Hanukkah stuff.
Yes I’ve used a lot of blues, silver, white, but also gold, a cool toned burgundy, beige & craft thrown in. I’ve always been a blue toned Christmas person. As far back as I can remember, long before I met Ex, I’ve preferred blue Christmas lights & blue trimmings. It also the only place I’ve ever numbered days ( 8 ) My favorite Hanukkah was the one that started the night of thanksgiving I made home made cranberry sauce in dreidel molds. And cranberry filled Soofganiyot yum!
Yes start your holiday album with Hanukkah in Nov! I’d love to see it.

I make 6x8 books, but they're not dailys. I add a few pages each year with photos from Hanukkah and playing out in the snow. I have 23 years covered in 3 albums so far.
The first page of each album has the blessings printed out, and in the next dozen pages I have song lyrics. Then the photo section for the bulk of each book.
They're also full of gift tags, wrapping paper, Hanukkah cards, and whatever else I can find.

That would be helpful too because as a returning Jew, I don’t remember a whole lot, also growing up we weren’t very observant

We are a mixed family (I am not Jewish, but my husband is and we raised our kids Jewish). I did my first December Daily last year. I have a day dedicated to Hanukkah with a picture of the matzo ball soup I make and my kids lighting the menorah (they are 19 and 21). Part of my album shows our x-mas decorations and the struggle to find a reasonably priced tree last year, but there are more photos of what I did each day...walking through the agricultural farm to see the cows near our house, celebrating my son's work, my daughter getting good grades her first semester at college, the color of the winter sunset, etc.
Since we don't have family here and normally travel to my parents for Christmas morning, I won't do this album for a while. My goal is to create a November Daily album this year because so much goes on...both kids' birthdays, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, fall, football season, etc.

Check out @jennysimoncreates on Instagram. She created a beautifully painted DD album cover in Hebrew. It will be interesting to follow her December pages.
