So, I am gathering December Daily stuff today to avoid the rush after Thanksgiving. Well, also to avoid housework.
I found some huge glittery gold stars in the back 40 of my scrap room. And some cool little threads from a box of embroidery thread my neighbor gave me. And some old K&Company Wild Saffron chipboard letters that are good colors for this project. I am continuing to gather as the others in the house are devoted to their football team.
How about you? What stuff are you going to use out of your stash, even if you have ordered a kit from somewhere/someone?

I've been pretty good over the last couple of years and used most of my Christmas embellishments and themed papers so I'm adding a couple of new items this year but I intend to try and use up my collection of papers that could easily work with a Christmas album - all those red / black / white / cream polka dots/ chevrons/ other basic patterns. And I'd like to find a way to use more green this year so I can use up some of my green cardstock stash!

Last year I went through all of my stash (it's not too big) and picked out EVERYTHING in the christmas colors I was using. That was crazy. I ended up having way too much to work with. Now I have a better idea of what I use and I will be more selective.
I picked up some CUTE CUTE CUTE baker's twine and gold letters in target's one spot yesterday. And I've been gathering a couple of images from christmas catalogs and mailers that have been coming.

Gold letters at target?? Are they like the chipboard ones from last year?

I have so much stuff amassed that it's not even funny, but I'm two years behind so a lot of it will eventually get used. I did get some new stuff this year to go with all of my old stash. Bought some at OA's warehouse sale and at the new store that's in front of them. Bought some of the new Doodlebug and Pebbles when I went for a scrappy weekend back in September and to a crop in October. The bad thing is I'll be THREE years behind before I get any chance at all to work on anything! I plan on at least taking the pics and writing some journaling every day like I did the last couple years, and once my studio is put back together I'll be able to sort through what I've got.

Hmmm...I need some gold letters without glitter. Why can't companies make glitter letters where the glitter stays on the letter and does not spray all over the page? I'll be checking out Target later today, for sure.
Good idea, blemon, to go through your entire stash for Christmas colors. Options are good.
And scrappersoccermom, thanks for the tip on free printables on Pinterest. Free is also good!
Enjoy Sunday scrapping, everyone! Off, again, to the back 40 hahaha.

Last year I got a Pink Paislee warehouse box that I have not used yet. I remembered seeing some Christmas stuff. Last night I looked thru it, and there is a whole bunch from their "City Sidewalks" collection- an 8 X 8 paper pack with the prints reduced in size, 12 X 12 sheets of many of the same patterns, and several packs of ephemera etc. I am making a paper bag mini album this year from a youtube tutorial December paper bag mini album, I can easily add other stuff like bling, ribbon, twine, brads/dots etc from my stash. In past years I fretted too much about the photos matching the pages and didn't get the albums done until long after December. This year I am taking the approach of making the whole mini-album, as if I were going to send it for a swap or give as a gift, and then just adding my photos and journaling. It is so easy to re-size and crop photos now I am sure I can make the photos fit to the mats or tags.

The alphabet at target is just paper, like a sheet of stickers.
They are each vertical rectangles in shape with a hand-drawn letter inside a gold redtangle. I'm not at home or I would shoot a pic.
If they had gold versions of the letters from last year, I would have started a new thread! I bought several packs of those.

Taking cue from Ali and trying to tell more stories. This year I will write about my tradition of buying a new Holiday CD each year. I took a picture of the CD and printed it. I also put our Holiday card in my basket to include. Yesterday I sorted through my stash and found some old paper with gold glitter patterns, grabbed that and some white and black card stock. Its in "the basket". I also printed out from Outlook the month of December. I did weekly style and included a section for notes. This is on a clip board and in my kitchen. I will at the very least jot some stuff down on here for daily activities. I already went through the month and wrote down plans we have.

Whenever I go to a craft store I kind of comb the aisles for 3D embellies, I did pickup some bows at Michaels yesterday that weren't too thick and some glittered words that were thin that I think were meant to be ornaments. I also plan on pre-making a lot of my own stuff so my game plan this week/weekend is to ramp up on cutting out a bunch of dies and stuff.

Other than the usual, I have to dig out all of my holiday-ish charms. Otherwise I'll forget to use a few. I like using a lot of textural items, tinsel pipe cleaners, felt, jingle bells, book pages for origami shapes, and small plastic bags like what extra buttons come in.
So excited that Ali posted her pages! I do my own thing, but she inspires me, as does Marie from stitchintime.
