My album arrived and I must say that I am disappointed with the color. I ordered red but this red looks like "cream of tomato soup red."
I thought that the color would be a deeper red.
I guess the color will have to grow on me.

Oh no! I ordered red as well and was also hoping for a deep Christmasy red. Mine should be here on Monday. Is it fabric? I can't remember.

Mine arrived today, too! I got the red and I really like it.
It is more of a coral-ish shade of red but I like that it's not traditional.

Yes, it's a fabric cover...and I'm thinking about painting it a more deeper red.

Since it's fabric, it would look really cool to do a thin wash of watered down paint to look like tie dye.
Or maybe use ink instead of paint.

I got the white after seeing the fabric swatches online. The red did seem sort of tomato-y. Mine will be here Monday.

I ordered white too, and I am glad I did. The white doesn't look the same as the preview through either. The sneak was a nice creamy color with brown flecks in it, like a natural linen, the album is nice, but is just plain light cream. No flecks. Totally going to spritz it with mist when I get my kit and find a spray that matches.

I didn't see any preview pics of the albums before I ordered. I figured red was a Christmas red, matching all of the accents in the kits. To me, tomatoey red is not a Christmas color. I would have ordered the cream color had I known. I guess that's what I get for ordering online, learned my lesson. This whole DD experience with SC has turned me off.

I was pleasantly surprised, because is ordered the white as the lesser of two evils (I didn't love either color), expected it to be beige-y, and was happy that it turned out to be more of a cream. I am sorry you are disappointed in the red. I didn't love the red swatch that had been posted.

I was really surprised when I saw the color on the video Ali has up with the foundation pages. That is orange, coral colored. I can understand why you would be shocked. I still think it's pretty, but very different. If I had bought the kit, I think I'd be looking around for a lot of orange Christmasy-type paper to tie it all together. It could turn out really colorful and fun at the end but definitely not traditional so much in the red, green, and white department. Good luck!

It kind of seemed like a red book that had sat around so long it faded. If I owned it, that's what I'd be telling myself to make myself like it more. I think you could mist some red mist all over it and perk it up if you wanted to.

Absolutely agree on the faded book look, great comparison. I haven't seen it in person either, and there are the variances to consider in monitor calibration that could make the color look different as well as the lighting when the video was shot. Hard to tell, but from what I can see, the more I look at it, the more I like it. If the spine and size of the album were a bit bigger, I'd be more tempted by the kit now than I was before because of the color it appears to be, little twist in the red towards the orange hint.

I I don't care if the color of the album matches the embellishments. I commented on that because when I first preordered the kit there was no picture of the album. It just stated it was red. So I assumed the red was the same red as the embellishments that were pictured. |

It is not red at all. It's absolutely coral. Cream of tomato soup with a little too much cream in it. I like the color and can use it but it's not really "Christmasy" in a traditional sense. Sherwin-Williams would have it in their orange/light orange swatch section.

It's not Christmasy at all. Mine is exactly the color of terra cotta pots. I think a little gold spray or glitter might look nice on it and make it more holiday-ish, maybe a stencil of a Christmas tree. Found a good example of what I'm thinking of here: Gold on Terracotta background |

Mine came today. I was so hoping it was more of a faded red, but nope...it's coral. It's...terra cotta...yes. lol Don't really love it but no way after all of this am I going to send it back and wait for another one delaying the whole process even more. This is my first time to order the kit even though I do DD every year. Probably my last time to order the kit as well.

Love the size and appreciate that we can make "thick" pages and still have a book that shuts. If I could make any suggestions, it would be to have the album in a little different fabric. I am afraid this white album is going to get dirty, if it was a more washable fabric it would be a nice feature. It would also be nice if it had a little sheen to it, the color is flat linen type. I do like the cream tone.

After she locked that thread someone started another one yesterday asking if anyone's red album looks orange. After 60+ comments April is now threatening to lock that thread too.
I am surprised so many people who are unsatisfied with the non-red color are willing to "alter" the cover by painting, spraying etc. after paying a premium price for this album.

Well, and someone will need to defend them in the thread and then start a passive-aggressive spinoff thread praising SC and asking for only positive comments  .
