CARDtober #15 Inside the Box/Collar Card

My first two challenges were “Outside the Box.” This one is easier, and definitely “inside” the box. Make a collar card (example below), but attach the front piece with the “collar” just on 3 sides, forming a pocket. Have something climbing out or to pull out that is a little surprise.

To make a collar card, you cut a slit from the center of one side to the middle. My slit was 2 inches. Fold back to make the collar. I used foam tape under the collar flaps.

In my example, the owl has a witch hat, but you don’t see the broom until you pull out the moon topped tag, and then you see that a gift card is attached to the tag. The twist is to line your envelope with a matching paper. You just cut a rectangle to the size you need, then trim the sides of the flap. Mine isn’t perfect. I just used scissors to do the trim (definitely old school).
