Hello crafters! Today we will quill some cardstock. By using thin strips of paper, this is the perfect challenge to use your scraps. I recommend to use 1/8 to 1/4 inch wide strips and thin cardstock. I used 65lb cs from Michaels . I started to curl my paper with my bone folder than wrapped it around my needle tool to get a tighter circle. When I was happy with it, I snipped of the excess paper and just used a tiny amount of liquid glue to keep it together. You can make them tight or loose, it is really up to you. I made two examples. On my first one I used a stencil and filled it up with my different sized and colored coils. On the second card I just created a simple design of my own. The best way to glue them to your card is to put some liquid glue on a piece of scrap paper and dip your coils in it and place it on your card. Tweezers help! 20211018_180429 by Azcrafty, on Flickr 20211017_133345 by Azcrafty, on Flickr 20211017_133352 by Azcrafty, on Flickr For the twist, we are just dumping a good amount of embossing powder on the desired location and heating it up from the bottom so the powder doesn't go everywhere. Let it cool for a couple seconds and than press your stamp in to it to leave an impression. Red rubber stamps work safe with this. If you don't have embossing powder you can create this by using a glue gun. Just push out a glob of glue and after a few seconds just press your stamp in to it ( second sample ) I didn't ruin my stamp but to be on the safe side you can always try it with an older stamp or with one you don't care for. 20211018_181607 by Azcrafty, on Flickr I hope you will give this a try. Happy crafting!

Another way to protect your stamp is to ink it with embossing ink (clear is best) then stamp into the still warm embossing powder. I didn't ruin my stamp but to be on the safe side you can always try it with an older stamp or with one you don't care for.

Last night I was thinking that I had no idea where my quilling tool could be. I’m not that adept when it comes to quilling, so originally I was thinking I might just skip this one, but this morning after I woke up, I knew exactly where my quilling tool was. Interesting how our brain can work on an issue while we sleep, whether we want it to or not. So I got out my quilling tool, cut some strips of card stock and started playing with it this morning. I’m not any more adept at quilling than I was the last time I tried.

This is Amazing 👏 scrapnnana. Love the design you come up with, the flower is beautiful and love the grass too. You are very good at this, don't under estimate your success on your first attempt.

Fun challenge. Not sure where my quilling tool is. I actually know where I have some pre cut quilling strips, though. (And I still have a few quilled leaves and flowers a friend made for me years ago--I have been hoarding...) Your cards are gorgeous, azcrafty and scrapnnana. I haven't tried debossing with a stamp and embossing powder, but it sounds fun.

scrapnnana WOW your card came out great! I was wondering how you got the tiny circles to look the same in all your petals, the same size and same placement. Maybe it is because of your secret - make lots and choose the special ones. I LOVE the embossed paper with the underneath design peeking through. Did you white wash and emboss it or did it come white washed? I also love the yellow at the top, the subtle sunshine. azcrafty thank you for the quilling challenge. Now I have a new technique of putting a stamp in heat embossing. It only took me three tries! It reminded me of sealing wax, which 15 year old me thought was soooo cool. Our anniversary is next week! 36 years.

What a fun quilled heart, jjpeapea! And I love how that gold worked out. Putting it on the tag is smart: gives an opportunity to do several and then choose the one you like best. And Happy Anniversary!!!!
