I just saw this post on my IG. I really enjoyed the last class from them Crushing on Cardstock (my challenges for CARDtober come from this class) Seeing the little video about the class it looks like they are going to use lots of specific stamps and stencils. So not sure if this will be helpful or just going to make me buy more stuff. What do you think? www.onlinecardclasses.com/product/holiday-card-workshop-2021/

It sounds interesting but as you said, I’m afraid it may just be trying to get me to buy more stuff

I went to sign up, azcrafty, but when I logged in, my shopping cart showed not only the new class but the Crushing on Cardstock class I had originally paid for. I have contacted them to learn how to edit my cart before hitting PayPal.

Everything I watch makes me want to buy more stuff so I'll skip this... tbh I need to spend more time doing something with all the ideas in my head and less time getting more ideas so even without the risk of being influenced I don't think I need to do any classes.

It does seem very product specific, so I'll pass on this. I've taken only one of KW's classes before. It was a watercolor class. I enjoyed it, and the price was good; however, I already knew most of the techniques. She didn't cover anything that I hadn't seen somewhere on YouTube before. I've never taken any JM classes, as her videos are too long and complicated for me.

Jennifer talked about it yesterday. It's a mix of a bunch of different techniques, gel press, hot foiling, coloring, etc. There are a lot of guest creators some who do videos and some who just have paper instructions. There is no live portion of this class. It's just an email with a link to the video/instructions each morning for 2 weeks.
I don't have the supplies for these techniques so this is a pass for me.

grammadee have you had a chance to watch this class? What do you think of it? I decided not to sign up. After difficulty editing my cart, I reread the class description and decided it didnt really fit that closely with how I create, so I just let it go. I really loved the Crushing series, so look forward to seeing what else they offer.

I’ve read some of the classes' descriptions, instructional pdfs and watched a few videos, so not everything, but I'd say it’s technique driven - like other classes there. So for me it's pretty transferable to cards I'd want to make using what’s in my enough-already stash.
Example - cards with a beam of light made with pigment ink or Versamark and Perfect Pearls. The cards are Christmas themed but the technique could be used for anything. Most card makers have pigment and/or sticky ink - and maybe Perfect Pearls?
For a partial shaker card, one student used a Rina K stamp set from Gina K - nothing like the example.
There are exceptions - either a marker or Wow embossing powder that puffs up when heat is applied is used to make snow. But I just enjoyed seeing placement of snow on words or letters and would use a gritty texture paste since I'm paste-addicted and don’t want puffy stuff.
There are long lists of supplies but so far there’s nothing I need to do the technique or something similar, and I never expect to like every technique or card in classes anyway. But I could see it being tempting too, if someone’s in a temptable mindset.
The daily pdfs and descriptions and ability to watch any time are pluses. I have classes there from years ago. This time I only visited the forum for a few minutes but that’s available too, though don't remember how long it's active.
