A Traveler's Notebook class is coming up in Crop& Create Delivered Papercrafting from Layle Koncar (?). She suggested an introduction video she'd put together of all of the reasons/ways to use a TN -- she uses a "standard wide" format (5 x 8.25"). But that looks like it might be manufactured by Simple Stories/Carpe Diem -- in any case, looking at Amazon that particular size is not very well represented.
Do any of the PEA-ple "do" Traveler's Notebooks? Would you say the size and what you use it for?
While I'm curious, I don't want it for "memory keeping" and my phone works very well as a calendar -- and I'm not "deep" enough to consider journaling! I think it might become an endless dark pit of further collection for me!

A standard size TN is 4.33x8.25. That's the size I use for my everyday journaling. They are easy to find.
A 5x8.25 is the Cahier size.

@patter uses TN size for layouts. Hopefully, she will pop in so you can see. Are you on Instagram? Heba Alsibai does great work in the standard size TN.

I love how Layle uses TN to make lists. I haven’t watched her intro video yet, but her YT channel and blog she has tons of examples of different list layouts she’s made.
These are lists of memories or favorites that pertain to a specific topic. Such as favorites childhood snacks, childhood books, childhood movies, memories with grandma, books read last month, favorite songs of 2021, etc.
My long term memory has always been bad, even when I was a young adult. I think making lists will help me preserve some memories, even if I can’t recall bigger or fuller ones.

I use lists - to do, reminders, etc -- but they are completely functional and are THROWN AWAY when they are complete. She was talking about what to do with the filled inserts and said she stores them. ?? I'm a collector - I've "joked" that I'm one scrap bag away from being a hoarder -- but I can't go to boxing up old lists! LOL! I have a very poor memory as to dates -- when something happened. Maybe a TN insert could be beneficial for that -- when I learn the date of something, I could write it down??? Since it isn't really "just a date" I'd want to recall, but a date relevant to a person, I could create a page per person and note specific dates. My sister was recent questioning when our maternal grandmother died ----

My sister was recent questioning when our maternal grandmother died ---- I don't think of them as lists as in the traditional, throw away to-do list. I view it as a "new" way of memory keeping, just like pocket scrapbooking and memory keeping in planners are "new". So for example, when thinking about the Christmas cookies my mom baked I don't have memories or special stories that I can recall about them, I just know I loved the jell-o cookies and the shortbread logs dipped in chocolate, etc. I wouldn't make a scrapbook layout about them, because I have no photos or mementos, or even really a story to tell. For me, this works well as a cute, decorated list. It's something I want to have documented, but it doesn't need to take up space as a traditional layout in an album. Listing allows me to put all the cookies on a single page and keep them from getting lost in the day-to-day or traditionally scrapbooked albums. This is the appeal for me. YMMV of course!

I use size 8 1/4 x 4 3/8. I really enjoy making my own as a way to use up all my extra papers. I did a YouTube video a while back on how to make them: Traveler's notebook

Yes, for me they are more or less a new/different size I use for project specific mini books. I do my Thursday 3 project in one. I made one with pandemic timelines and family interviews that I then stuck in my WITL album. AE has a pieces of Life project that I plan on doing in this size next. 4.25 x 8.25 is the size I think.

I've done one for DD and I have one for "my" stories - it's just random stuff that doesn't go anywhere else. I do like it and I say "go for it!"

I like TN size for everyday moments and pictures printed from my phone. I have a mini printer that prints 2x3 inch photos and TNs are great for those. I’ve also made mini books. On a recent vacation, I pre-made a TN and took the little printer with me. Each day I printed a few pics and stuck them in the book. By the end of the trip, I had a completed vacation mini book.

I use it for notes, prayers, etc. I am getting ready to create a new one for scripture study. Anyway, here is a page from my faith book. I haven't done any of these in a long while but I do love the size.

I have an embarrassing amount of ideas saved for that one day when I try the size.

Huge fan here. What I love most about it is that there are a lot of cool things to document that do not warrant a 12x12 layout. I also love that they are so small and there is not such a burden to store them. I love them to document travel, which is what they were originally for. I love them to document everyday stuff. I think I have made three or four total, so it's not like I am setting the world on fire, but I am in an "off" season for scrappy stuff, so that's part of why. Here's a dumb little thing I would not want to make the subject of a 12x12 layout but I am very glad I documented this. Hello by Seanna., on Flickr

I have a lot of Studio Calico TN's but take them apart and use them in my Life Crafted albums (Citrus Twist). The size of those is about 5 x 8.25".
