Thanks, everyone. Hugs and prayers are always appreciated! We (my sister-on-law & I) stayed in our hotel for the night. I had talked the surgeon into giving me one Adavan tablet for bedtime. And I had a pretty good sleep. Up only once with pain but a pain pill took care of that so got back to sleep without too much trouble. Still working on getting all the pumped in gas out of my system, but otherwise doing well. Going to head down for breakfast soon; then we will be heading home.
Will catch up once I get home.

Linda , what a great warm blanket. I love the moon print on it. I am anxious to see your ribbon candy strips. Do you then fill them with candy? grammadee , hope you are feeling well enough to go home today. Resting at home is always more comfortable than a hospital or hotel. Hugs! kitbop , is your dad's surgery this week? I hope he does well and that you can work out the arrangements for his aftercare. Big, big hugs to you, sweet friend!!

grammadee - I'm glad that you had a good night. Prayers for your recovery to continue to go well. ((((Hugs))) nylene - thank you - DD15 loves looking at the stars and moon so I thought it would be perfect for her. The ribbon candy will just be ornaments for the tree that look like the old-fashioned candy - I remember my granny always having it at Christmas...it was so pretty but I didn't care much for eating it. How are you feeling? Hopefully back to normal. ((((Hugs))) kitbop - prayers and (((Hugs))) for you - so much on your plate. I'm trying to get all of my Christmas sewing done before Thanksgiving and hopefully get the two packages I need to mail out the weekend afterwards. December is looking incredibly busy. DS will only be home for 5 days over Christmas and DD21 will leave with him so we have to get her all packed up plus get the rest of my furniture over here and the last of those boxes unpacked, the house deepcleaned for Christmas and decorated (which with a new house, means figuring out where everything will go) plus finish cleaning up the lawn and gardens and baking and ....her semester ends on Dec 11th, DD15's ends Dec 17th. This week alone - I have a phone appointment this afternoon, DD15 has a meet afterschool and a GS field trip TO REI on Thursday, we're all going to a play Thursday evening...I'm not accustomed to being so busy.

Linda - you have had an incredibly busy year with homeschooling, moving, and kids' stuffs. Congratulations on keeping your head above water! Christmas adds that extra pressure where we want to enjoy our family time when it's available, but preparing for that family fun stuff creates extra dealines and projects. Love/hate relationship with Christmas for me... grammadee - so far sounding good - oh how I hope you feel recovered quickly! LOL about brownies. They are a household favourite here, and with Christmas we add a layer of after eights to the top of the warm brownies. On half the pan, because half the family doesn't want the mint! I LOVE the camp blanket you made. Thanks for thinking of me this week guys... Even though I phoned him every day and reminded him, my Dad still managed to forget the instructions and took his blood thinner EVERY DAY that he was supposed to be off it!!! And...didn't tell me until yesterday (I think he was embarassed when I called to remind him each day). They've had to reschedule to Dec. 1. So frustrating - my Dad said today, "I'll write it down". ARGH! It's a terrible time to reschedule because now DH this time!

Good Morning! grammadee I'm so happy everything went well and you are home recovering! Yay for Christmas dinner! And allll the food! nylene how are you feeling? I broke the same toe twice stubbing it on Rudy's high chair. Not a fun experience either time lol. Oh No kitbop! I'm so sorry your dad isn't cooperating well so this surgery can happen. I hope it all gets worked out without too much extra extra stress for you! Linda I had to laugh at DD21 being sad the brownies weren't for the house. And what an awesome mum you are to make a second batch. I love that blanket, it looks so cozy! And oh I remember the cans of old-fashioned candy at Christmas! It always looked so good and tasted so terrible lol. I would probably appreciate the flavors more as an adult lol. knutschen what a cute pup! So sweet, congratulations! I hope the vet visit went well. I got my booster on Sunday, had a few side effects, the biggest one being swollen lymph nodes, which means putting off my mamo that I had already put off. In a lot of ways I'm still trying to find "normal" again when it comes to doing things like that. My niece who rarely gets time to scrap had Saturday last week spur of the moment. I could not say no, so she and I and my mom scrapped for 6 hours Saturday. I even finished a layout start to finish which never ever happens! Now I'm trying to figure out another big chunk of time for this weekend. But it's a Rudy weekend so that may or may not happen. I'm hoping I can host a crop Saturday night. *fingers crossed* I was so sure I would have trick or treaters for Halloween and had zero. None. Not even Rudy lol. He and his dad opted out of a trunk or treat on the day of, for a quiet night at home together. Rudy had already gathered candy from several places the day before, so he was down for some quiet. I keep thinking I should start the holiday baking and shopping, but I have a love/hate relationship with this time of year. I think my favorite day of the year is December 26th when it's all over lol. I hope you all are having a good week!

kitbop - I LOVE the idea of adding After Eights - they were always a special holiday treat growing up. I'll have to see if I can find them here - it's been a few years since I've looked. I'm so sorry about your dad - hopefully the second time around will be more successful. ((((Hugs))))) joyfulnana - yeah - I had to put off my mammo that was already long overdue because of the booster also - I bumped it to January because December is just so busy already. Hope you get more scrap time

kitbop and Linda, what are After Eights? I have never heard of them, but assume they must be mint flavored. And those old fashioned ribbon candies were always my favorites because I hated candy canes. To me, mint is just so yucky that I am nauseated after eating it. I would love to see a photo of your ribbon candy ornaments, Linda. kitbop, I am sorry they are having to postpone your dad's surgery. I hope things work out and that you are able to figure out a way to help him recover without going crazy. gramma, how are you doing and what are you working on this month? Are you still working on your angel cross stitch? grammadee, hoping you are feeling stronger each day. Do you feel up to scrapping? joyfulnana, I love that you have regular weekends with Rudy. I know it bites into your personal time, but these will be memories for him to look back on in the years to come. I always wished I had a grandma like most of the kids in my classes. Rudy's a lucky little boy! I am trying to get some decluttering done today. My toe is still tender, but I can get a shoe on so I can do things around the house. Our son invited us to go out yesterday and see a home he is building for a client. It is actually a remodel of a very old little farmhouse into a very large beautiful home. It's farmhouse style and it will be updated but will still look like a farmhouse. The interior is shiplap and reclaimed RR trestles that were pulled out of the Great Salt Lake. It is so beautiful and so rustic. It's way out in the county with lots of land around it. It was a great outing for us and an opportunity to spend time with DS. He is such a great guy as long as we don't talk politics or vaccines! Well, I've spent too much time on the computer. Back to some housecleaning. Have a great weekend, everyone. I hope to get a few minutes to scrap sometime this weekend.

Hey Pokeys. Thanks for all the well wishes. I am doing okay. Not up to scrapping yet, nylene, but I have been watching the SCT event videos from last weekend. Feeling better every day, though, so maybe by the weekend I will be able to actually cut or glue something. Glad you are feeling well enough to consider decluttering, but please don't over do it. That is so frustrating about your dad, kitbop. Sounds like he was scared of the surgery and found his own little way to sabotage it. Not that he would admit to that... You seem busy as always, Linda. So sweet that you made an extra batch of brownies for your older dd. I had never thought of adding After Eights to baking. nylene they are dark chocolate covered peppermint wafers. Since I love both dark chocolate and pepperment, they are one of my favourite after dinner treats. Hope you have a good time with Rudy this weekend, joyfulnana. My dgs and his dad have been here all week helping out. They have have been helping Grampa around the yard and looking after meals and kitchen cleanup. Yesterday they steam cleaned the living room rug, and this morning set up the furniture so there will be room for the Christmas tree in a few weeks. Dgs has been very gentle and solicitous around me, and quite the fetch and carry guy. However, I hate to say it, but I think it will be a relief when they leave for home Friday evening (Dgs has a hockey game Saturday morning). Shouting out to gramma and msliz and justjac and kellyr21 and all the other Pokeys.

grammadee described these perfectly nylene. I can imagine that if mint is a bad flavour for you, you wouldn't know what these were! To me, I imaging After Eights like a North American standard, kinda like Turtles! I'm glad your toe is improving. That house sounds absolutely dreamy and for someone very very rich grammadee - yes, I do have to consider that my dad might unintentionally delay things...he just doesn't understand medical issues and that must be so frightening. I will be curious as to what you think of the SCT classes! Hoping you rejoin us in scrappy world soon. Today, I got a lot done on the retirement/memory book I'm working on. 2nd one this year. I have to stop being voluntold for these things. They are time consuming, and while it's seen as my gift to the retiree (so I don't contribute to the other gifts) it is expensive when you add up all the cardstock and adhesive and photo printing I'm doing! I'm keeping this one pretty simple. Using old Basic Grey "Kioshi" from 2010...it's been in my stash a while...and even so it's hard to cut into pps and give them away when the hoarding part of my heart knows they cannot be replaced!

nylene - After Eights are mint fondant coated in dark chocolate - they are thin squareish wafers and come in a dark green box with each wafer in a sleeve. As a child they felt very grown up and as an adult, they are still one of my favourites although sometimes hard to find. I think Nestle makes them nowadays but once upon a time they were British made by Rowntree I think. My ribbon candy ornaments are more fiddley that I had thought they would be. One - slightly off kilter - finished, nineteen to go. I think I'll make a goal of finishing one a day. I do hope you're not overdoing things nylene. That house tour sounded lovely. grammadee - so glad that you're on the mend and hopefully taking it easy as well. kitbop - it's kind of you to do the retirement album but yes, time-consuming and expensive. Another busy day here after not feeling well yesterday afternoon - and don't tell my family, but I'm still not feeling 100%, I'm just so exhausted all of the time. I think the ongoing anaemia is catching up to me. But D15 had a Girl Scout field trip to REI (about an hour away). It was supposed to just be an hour but ended up being two. They learnt all about the different sleeping bags and clothes and boots - in preparation for their trip next summer - for the canoe portion, they'll only have about 30 litres worth of space for their sleeping bag and clothes etc... And of course she wanted lunch afterwards - and the place was so understaffed, it was very slow. And Dh wanted to stop at Hobby Lobby and 2nd & Charles - I waited in the car at the latter, I was just wiped out energywise by then. And tonight we saw The Great Gatsby at the high school - DD had several friends acting in it. It was excellent but long. And I'm ready for bed but need to wait for the laundry to finish Hi to all the Pokies!

I love that you have regular weekends with Rudy. I know it bites into your personal time, but these will be memories for him to look back on in the years to come. I always wished I had a grandma like most of the kids in my classes. Rudy's a lucky little boy! nylene I remind myself often that he isn't going to be this age long and one day he won't have so much time for Nana. He's growing up so fast! I did not have a good grandma either, so I do my best to be the grandma I wish I had had, and from everything I've seen so do you! Your grands are lucky kids! The house tour sounds lovely! I'm sorry you have to avoid those topics with your son. My kids are similar with me on politics and vaccines, but most of my siblings are not. The ones that are not are way way way out there so I'm avoiding them for the most part. Linda Are After Eights similar to Andes thin mints? That's what I'm imagining when I think about spreading them on brownies. Which sounds delicious and something I want to have for one holiday at least! I love brownies. Are you being treated for the anemia? I hope you can get some rest and get your energy up. You are on the go so much it would be hard for me to do all you do even if I felt well! Take care of yourself! grammadee so glad to hear you are recovering well! And wow you had some great helpers! I wish someone would come clean my carpets lol. I really need to, but I'm such a procrastinator lol. kitbop I have a really hard time making gifts that use my stash. If I'm going to give something away I buy new supplies because I'm so stingy with what I have lol. Well, my week got a little interesting on Thursday. Cody has Covid. He tested positive on Thursday after a weekend away. Fortunately, I had suggested last week that we put off starting a new show for another week, so I wasn't exposed by sitting with him for 2 hours on Monday and Wednesday and only saw him for a short time Wednesday evening. But that means no Rudy weekend. And I'm kinda ok with that lol. After last weeks scrapping marathon with my mom I was ready for another so I'll be hosting a crop tonight if anyone wants to join in! So far Cody is doing well, lost his taste and smell and is stuffy headed and tired. I drop supplies at his doorstep lol. I feel fine so far and keeping fingers crossed I'm ok. Rudy had to be pulled out of school since he had been at his Dad's Tuesday night, but has tested negative. Poor kid has to get tested twice more before he can go back to school. I'm sure his parents will be getting him vaccinated sooner rather than later now! This is the first person I know IRL that has had a breakthrough case. Well I've got some housework to get done and maybe some photos printed to scrap with tonight. I hope you are all having a great weekend!

It's been a hard couple of weeks. Year end is always stress filled for me at work. Getting the accounting all buttoned up, projecting year end, meeting with the owner to decide if bonuses will be possible this year, preparing for payroll year close with the first payroll of 2022 falling on January 1st, making sure payroll reports are all in line for our 401k and ESOP and Internal audits. By the end of January I'll be wiped out.
So - NO THINKING ABOUT WORK FOR THE NEXT 2 DAYS. I'm going to cut and glue!!

Happy weekend, Pokeys! I am doing well. Met my new gp yesterday. She ordered some bloodwork for Monday, but so far, all looks good. Am gradually eating more normally, and actually feeling hungry, so that is a good thing. joyfulnana I hope Cody recovers quickly and that it spreads to no one else. I completely understand mixed feelings about missing your Rudy weekend. I hope I can join you for a bit this evening if you set up a virtual meet, just to chat. Dgs and his dad headed home yesterday evening b/c he had a hockey game first thing this morning. Dh had ordered Ukrainian food for the three of them to be picked up at the door of a local seniors centre this evening, but now he is going to go with his nephew and spouse to pick up the meals. They plan to eat in the vehicle and then dh will bring the extra meals home to be frozen for next time "the guys" are here. Glad you are done all the tough stuff from work, gramma and ready to play this weekend! I spent the morning searching for photos and supplies for my last two family calendar pages. Have my 2021 overview all in one jpeg file now, so ready to tackle the cover. And I printed a couple of pic's to use for November. Hoping to get those constructed tomorrow so that I can take them to print on Monday.

joyfulnana - I hope Cody feels better soon and didn't share with any of you. Sorry about missing your Rudy weekend but yay for scrapping. I think Andes mints are similar - the after eights are super thin and about 1.5" square so a different shape and a better chocolate (at least in my opinion). As for the anaemia - I've been on iron supplements for several years now...I think the hope is that menopause will arrive and fix it. gramma - (((Hugs))) that does sound stressful. I'm glad that you're taking time to get crafty and relax grammadee - glad you're feeling better - hopefully that continues and you'll be back to your old self (minus the gallbladder issues) real soon. Ukrainian food sounds yummy - freezing the extras is a good idea. Yesterday I did some organising in the garage and moved about a dozen boxes of books upstairs - there's 10 miore boxes to go (and those are the heaviest ones of course). Sewed some mats for under the cat food and water bowls from some fabric I was given (by a friend downsizing) that wasn't my favourite and made a tie for DS that's been on the to-do list for longer than I would like to admit. Today I have napkins to sew - 3 sets - and a set of placemats as well. And housework...and those book boxes to move. So of course I'm on the computer, lol.

That sounds like a super busy day Saturday, Linda. It was great to chat on line with kitbop and joyfulnana and gramma and justjac in the virtual crops over the weekend. And to play with paper and glue. I am having a grumpy day today. I felt quite well yesterday--almost normal if a little tired. Today I woke up achy and whiney. Got into town for my bloodwork and have the last bit of printing done for my family calendars, but when I got home I took a pain killer and had a nap. Pain is gone now, and supper went down without a hitch, but I am still grumpy... One day this week my internet will be down for several hours. Telus called to say they plan to "greatly improve the internet service" here. Okay. They are our current provider. They are planning to send out a technician to install a receiver outside the house. Two years ago when I switched to them, the indoor wireless hub was supposed to be the be-all, end-all. Not sure if said technician is bringing a new hub? Or he will teach the old one to talk to the new receiver? Of course all the connections to the internet are under my desk in my office/scrap room. Maybe I can get the tech to vacuum while he is down there?

Hugs grammadee, I'm sure the disruption to your life this surgery caused warrants a delayed day of feeling "grumpy"! In our house, we call it "salty" - those disagreeable frustrated feelings that just leave you disgruntled with the whole world. So nice to have a couple of days off work now. Today, DD took her driver's license road test and passed without a hitch. I had to wait outside in 0 degree weather (that's celcius, not F) (thank God I put on my winter coat...it's the first time I've worn it) while she was off with the tester, because they won't let parents inside to wait!!! I was very proud, as she's had no drivers training other than DH and me. She's had many friends fail after formal drivers ed. And I helped DS make chili - he's keen to learn the family favourites. Only burned it a bit... but that's how we learn. Then I went to the gym, fuelled on an afternoon 2 mugs of coffee. Wow. Caffeine is truly a wonderful drug!!! I may not sleep well, but hey, I ran like a gazelle (or maybe a discoordinated giraffe is a better description of me). I also got 2 fun scrappy things in the mail: a waffle flower stencil mat from Amazon (cheaper than scrapbook stores, and in stock!), and some dies from China. So I think I'll head to the basement and play with some Christmas cards. Linda - we use the cloth mats made for dishdrying under our dog and cat dishes. I'm sure yours are a lot prettier! joyfulnana - cody update? Andes mints are hard. After eights interior is a *slightly* liquid mint. Softer. And they are super thin. gramma - it's hard to recharge when you know you've got weeks ahead of you of "chores". I'm sorry it's a bad time of year, because adding Christmas to it is extra work even tho it's supposed to be joyful. We all know how juch work the season it- who said that Boxing Day is their favourite because it means Christmas is over? Oh yeah, me. Hey - I just came up with a scrapbook layout title for all that preparation/work we do to make it festive: "The WRINKLE in the TWINKLE"!!!

oh yes, Boxing Day is my favorite day too! I'm anxiously awaiting it already lol. grammadee you are entitled to a grumpy day! I hope the tech knows what he's doing when he gets there. I'm sure the whole thing looks good on paper lol. I wanted to give a Cody update - He's feeling better and the only symptom he has now is no taste or smell. Other than that he says he feels the most normal he has since Thursday. Once he has a negative test he can have Bub over again. Those two are really missing each other. Rudy was crying tonight when they facetimed because he can't come over yet. But no one else got it, so we are all grateful for that! I think Cody said he's going to test again Thursday.

((((Hugs))) grammadee - I hope today is a better day but certainly some grumpiness is warranted during surgery recovery. Good luck with the internet 'improvements' kitbop - congratulations to your daughter! I love your scrapbook page idea joyfulnana - so glad he's feeling better and didn't share. Hopefully he'll test negative and can see Rudy again soon I did an inventory of Christmas cards today - I have plenty but didn't make ANY postcards for the nursing home so I'm going to see if I can get those started (I need about 50) so I can include them in my sister's Christmas package - hoping to mail that next week.

Hello, Pokeys! gramma , I am sorry things get so busy for you this time of year. I hope you had some good scrapping days. I was hoping to get on the online crops but had another attack and had a rough weekend. I even missed the Primary program at church that we have practiced for all year. I really wanted to see the kids do their parts. Oh, well, next year. Take care of yourself while you get all your year-end stuff together. When did you say you were going to retire??LOL kitbop , congrats to your DD for passing her test. That's such an important rite of passage for kids. I love your title idea. I wish I could think of titles like you do. How's your dad doing while waiting for his surgery. I'm sorry that was postponed. joyfulnana , so glad to hear good news about Cody. I'm sure Rudy is so lonesome without him. I hope the Thursday test is negative and they can get together. I'm glad he stayed isolated so no one else got it. I look forward to seeing you online one of these weekends. Linda , your schedule makes me tired. Are your new napkins Christmas fabric, or are they just for everyday? Please take it easy and recover some. It know it's a busy time, but just do the essentials if you are still feeling exhausted. I'm glad you can sit while you do the Christmas postcards. You need some down time! grammadee , you deserve a grumpy day! I hope that your internet works when the tech finishes and that it works even better. I'm always nervous when something needs to be upgraded for fear it will be "out" for a while as they "fix bugs". I hope you are recovering slowly and not trying to do too much. kellyr21, how are you doing? Do you have plans for Thanksgiving? Keep in touch. We miss you. MARIBETHR, I am anxious to see all your Christmas décor once you get it put up. We plan to ask the family here for Thanksgiving to help carry everything up from the basement before they leave. We will have just us and Em's family which is 9 people. What are your plans? Waving to all our Pokeys! I hope to get online on the weekend.

Well it is WINTER!!! Six inches of very wet snow overnight, plus a wind that piled it up in places. Wind is still blowing. Our driveway is plugged, I think, until the neighbours have time to plow it. Haven't heard from "the cable guy", so assuming he won't be attempting a service call today. If he is "in the area" like they said, he would know the weather is not conducive to mounting receivers. I tried to contact Telus several times, got through all the auto stuff once, but never did get directed to the department that handles installs. If they have to pay a guy to drive to our gate for nothing, not my problem. How are you feeling today, nylene. Not another attack so soon! So sad that you missed the concert. But more concerned about YOU! Please take it easy and rest until you are "good as new", or at least "good as old". Glad Cody is recovering, joyfulnana. Here is another wish for a negative test on Thursday. Those boys need to see each other! Congrats to your new driver, kitbop! My 16-yr-old dgd texted me a couple of weeks ago that she had earned her license. I kinda giggled, cuz last summer my ddil said they were scared to drive with her to practice. I think having her older brother--and often designated driver for errands and running the little guys around--move away sped up that instruction! I like your page title. Lots of wrinkles around here and not alot of twinkle so far... Love hearing about all your projects, Linda, but like nylene I feel a little exhausted just reading about them! Sewing and unpacking and card making, oh my! Waving "Hi" to gramma and msliz and justjac and kellyr21 and MARIBETHR and all the other Pokeys. The snow motivated me to compose my annual Christmas letter this morning so at least I got something accomplished. I am at a point where I WANT to make cards, but not alot of energy and NO inspiration. I assembled, over the past three days, a dozen using the pieces I cut for the Sheetload of Cards challenge, but now they need greetings. And some kind of decoration. I pulled out some bits and pieces I had stowed away in my Christmas cupboard, but of course nothing matches the papers I used. Should have thought this one through more...

grammadee, oh, no! Six inches of snow already? I just dread winter coming this year. I hate being cold and it seems that I always feel cold. I hope your neighbors get you plowed out and the internet tech can do his thing. Congrats on getting your letter written. I have lots of cards done, but no letter. Take it easy.

Hi nylene - everyday napkins - the ones I made for me are brown flannel to match my fall placemats. I'm making red flannel and red/black buffalo check flannel napkins for my sister as a Christmas present as she's bought a new house with a red kitchen and requested them. I'm making white flannel for DS to go with the blue/white placemats I'm making him for Christmas. We love flannel napkins for everyday because they wash up so well and get softer with time. Don't worry - I'm taking a nap every morning after DD15 leaves for the bus. I'm so sorry that you're unwell again - that's so unfair. (((Hugs))) and prayers grammadee wow- so much snow! goodness winter comes early where you live.

Hey Pokeys. I had two snow days thanks to all the snow we got. Dean still had to work so I decided it was my turn to shovel. That snow was heavy! I took it easy and did it in three chunks, but my arms are sore. I made some snowflake spinner cards like I saw in a Jennifer McGuire video, but they took a lot longer and didn’t spin as nicely as hers. They’re still pretty, though. It was Dean’s birthday yesterday so we went out for supper with his family.
I’ve got to get changed and run out to the grocery store. Have a good day.

Hey gramma - can I offer more hugs here? How are things today? justjac - I don't think I saw snowflake spinner cards, and I thought I watched all her videos! Are they recent? kellyr21 - HI! Hugs back atcha! nylene - ugh, hugs for you too! I'm so sorry your body is in such disagreement with you right now Take it easy; hoping you feel well enough to crop with us a weekend soon because it's always so nice to see you! grammadee - I think I need to do a quick typewritten family "note" to include in our cards, because it doesn't seem worth it to send a card with just a signature in it? I remember fondly the years when we could send a family picture and it was fun because the kids were growing/changing. It would seem very odd now to send a picture with grown children in it!

hi all.
I got the 50 postcards for the nursing home made - I just need to stamp a sentiment on the back and sign them.
Tomorrow I'm making green bean casserole and watergate salad in the morning - DH has a Thanksgiving potluck lunch at work - he'll come home and get them (we're not quite a mile away). I've never actually MADE green bean casserole before so hopefully the recipe I found is good.

I'm free! I'm free! The neighbour came and plowed our driveway this evening. Dh had texted him to tell him I needed to get out tomorrow and needed to leave by 8:00, b/c he knew I wanted to go to the craft fair. Hoping I can get there early and get a parking spot near the entrance so I can shop for some Christmas gifts and frequently take them to the car so I am not carrying them around with me. justjac has offered to have me stay over if I play out, but I am hoping I can get through the day and then home before my batteries fade too much. What recipe did you use for green bean casserole, Linda? I have eaten it before and loved it; even made it a few times; but the recipe I had called for topping with canned crispy onions. We used to be able to get the onions here, but I have not seen them for a long time. kitbop, I started "the letter" quite a few years ago. I had been hand writing updates about us and the kids directly into each card, but it was pretty time consuming. I was a little embarrassed at first writing a "form letter", but decided to just have fun with it. A couple of years ago I tried to quit, or at least limit its distribution, but after 3 different people called me to ask why the letter wasn't in their card, I decided I would just continue to write it and distribute it widely. I have warned my kids and grandkids not to do anything they would be embarrassed to see in my annual letter. This year, I used the same photo collage I put on the cover of the calendar, numbered the pic's, and wrote a little about each of us in the letter. Now I have to get it copied to go into the cards. Started out today doing some dry embossing of card panels, then putting together some simple Christmas cards between taking calls from the county development office about an application we have submitted, and talking to the Telus guy. He ended up parking on the road and walking in to the house (about 200 yards) to check out where reception would be good for placement of the receiver. I texted him tonight to let him know the lane is plowed, so he thinks he will come tomorrow evening after he finishes his other installations. This is the SCT weekend, but I don't think I will be able to participate much. Dsil will be arriving Friday evening and then dd & dgs will be arriving Saturday afternoon. Maybe Saturday morning while dsil and dh have some bonding time clearing the snow from in front of their travel trailer. Their plan is to have it hooked up and hauled to a neighbour's shop (where it will be stored the rest of the winter) by Saturday late afternoon. Okay, enough rambling. Have a good evening, Pokeys!

yay for the driveway being ploughed! I'm glad you're free and able to go to the craft fair grammadee - have fun! It sounds like you had a busy day yesterday - I hope you're not overdoing it. Enjoy your visitors - I hope you get to peek in at SCT at least. houseofnasheats.com/fresh-green-bean-casserole/ is the recipe I used. There were no leftovers and DH said it was good. But it does use the french fried onions - sorry they are hard to find for you.

Good Morning Pokeys and Happy Finally Friday!! Although Friday seems to come quicker every week. I can't believe how time is speeding along this year! gramma how are you doing? Sending you lots of (((hugs))) kellyr21 I've been thinking of you as well and sending you lots of (((hugs))) too. Hope to see you soon now that we are getting a crop schedule together again, even if it's just to pop in and say HI. Take care of yourself! grammadee, oh my 6 inches of snow! I'm not sure how I would feel about that lol. On the one hand, it would "be hurray! I have to stay home!" on the other, staying home doesn't mean no work which is actually a perk of working from home. I don't have to drive in bad weather unless I want to lol. My niece's family used to send a newsletter with their cards. They tried to stop and three of of protested mightily! So the three of us still get the newsletter lol. Make sure you are taking it easy to get your strength back! nylene I hope you feel better soon and up to snuff and I hope we "see" you soon too! kitbop hurray for another driver! (?) lol. My oldest totalled my car within a week of getting his license. It was my favorite car too lol. It's a big deal to drive and I'm sure she is better at it than he was at that age lol. Kudos to you and DH for teaching her well! Linda you now have me wanting to sew flannel napkins. I need to get some use out of that pandemic impulse purchase lol. justjac you gave the biggest reason I will continue to live in an apartment - snow shoveling! Also mowing and just home repair and upkeep in general lol. It would be nice, but I like calling maintenance to come fix things for me Update on the Covid kid - he is now negative!! And going to surprise Rudy with picking him up at school today. It won't surprise me if Rudy cries when he sees his dad. He's going to have Rudy the next two weekends now. I'm trying to figure out the logistics of it all so I can get on the crop schedule. I doubt Rudy will want to sleep over here, but I'll keep him during Sunday practice and we will go to lunch. I have a feeling DS2 will be by this weekend. Probably on Saturday. It was much easier to host when we were all locked down lol. I have to say the vaccines work. Cody spent 6 hours driving home from that show closed up in a car with three other people, and none of them got Covid. He was the only one. Maybe vaccinated people don't spread it as easily as they say they can. Not that I want to test the theory either lol. Waving hi to all and hope everyone has a great weekend!
