i'll say this for the Republicans---when they band together, they really band together. they will put their shit aside for to stonewall against something. right now, there are too many factions in the Democratic party wanting their way and they are not afraid to hold up the process to get it. the GOP must be laughing their asses off that the Dems control the House and Senate but can't get anything done because of 1 or 2 hold outs. the Dems seriously need to get it together. Both the dem progressives and moderates (as in congressional representatives, not voters) are driving me insane, currently. While I’m behind a lot of things on the build back better bill wanted, they’re both trying to legislate like they have the supermajority that they don’t. As a result, nothing is getting done. It’s absolutely maddening.

Interesting video on Manchin's press conference yesterday. His solution? Not vote Manchin out or primary him because that would result in losing a Democratic senator but flip more seats from Republican to Democrat. Definitely a catch 22 because that won't happen if they can't pass the infrastructure bills. www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7v8I7v4R_E

Just say, "Oh, well, we don't have a super majority so we will just not try?" even though many of them ran on the premise that they would fight for the things in the original bill?

I don’t see this as good faith negotiations. It’s entirely dysfunctional.
