I love cooperative games where you all win or lose as a team. 5 minute dungeon and Forbidden Island are some of my favorites

We played Blank Slate at a friends house this weekend, it was a lot of fun!
Heads Up is also a lot of fun. We play the app version.
Spoons is another family fave, though it’s a card game not a board game.

While it’s not a board game, my family really likes playing the card game Skip-Bo. It moves fast and a lot of people can play.

Our family plays a lot of board games. Some of our favorites that we play with extended family and are easy to learn
Apples to Apples Code Names Left Center Right Tenzi - a dice game but great for groups Splendor - this one is a little more challenging to learn, but definitely worth it

Ticket to Ride is perfect for all ages. It’s easy to learn and engaging enough for more experienced gamers.

Pit is fun (and loud!) for a group.
Nertz is not a board game but a super fun card game and just requires one deck of (differently colored/patterned) cards per player.

Pandemic is a cooperative game. But, nobody wants to play that one now!

I like LCR/Left Right Center for big groups. I’ve had as many as 30 playing around the table and any age can play. There’s no real skill and the game moves fast enough that even when it seems like you are losing, you can still win in the end. You can play with candy, quarters, dollars, or more. Thanks! I just ordered it:) we play games every Saturday and while we do love our standbys, I’m excited to try this!

Another vote for Tenzi! And for smaller groups we love the card game Play Nine.

Thank you to those who suggested Blank Slate! We played it multiple times with people of all ages and loved it. Lots of laughs and simple game play.

Our favorite is Tripoley. We played it for almost 3 hours last night—3 teens and 2 adults. It involves Hearts, Poker, and Michigan Rummy, and we use poker chips to bet. There’s a bit of a learning curve for the younger players when it’s time for the poker hand, but other than that it’s fast paced and a lot of fun.

Our family has managed to turn Candyland into a contact sport!!! We are also very aggressive Trouble players and ruthless at Monopoly!

In case this comes in handy for Christmas too- Definitely add me to the blank slate lovers. We have kids as young as 10 to grandparents and another favorite is Wits and Wagers. It’s like trivia but with more guessing so you don’t have to really know the answers.
