Tried the metal, hate the metal (even with the tip). I then bought these years ago, and it's all I use! LOVE them. I scrub with a brush inside and out and put in the dishwasher. Striped Colored Straws

A few holidays ago I got my tween nieces a collapsible metal straw off Amazon. It had a silicone mouthpiece and cleaning brush. Amazon had a lot of options.

I've picked up a few sets of the stainless steel ones for my husband. He was sick of getting coffee in his beard and mustache. I have found them both at our regular grocery store and Aldi, and both sets came with a tiny brush cleaner, but we just throw them in the dishwasher. I think the ones from the grocery store had some silicone nibs for the tops, but he pitched those because he didn't like them. don't they get hot with hot liquid? He puts a decent amount of milk in his coffee, and usually lets it sit for a moment before having any because he doesn't like super hot things as it is.

I have stainless steel and silicone straws. I dislike using the stainless steel ones. I just don't like the feel against my teeth. I can't really explain it. But if I'm drinking a thick smoothie I have to use the stainless steel ones because the silicone ones I have are not wide enough. I am on the hunt for wide silicone or plastic straws.
I also have a big chiller mug that has a metal straw with a silicone tip.

I want some straws that are good for boboa tea. I do have a bamboo one but I rarely use it. I have seen some pretty glass ones.

I have the metal ones, I really like them, I soak them , run them through the dishwasher, and brush them regularly. I tried some collapsible metal ones with silicone tips but they weren’t big enough for my smoothies & kept collapsing on me.
I would probably try many of the ones suggested here, and will probably put them on my Cmas list.

Just throwing it out there - my aesthetician is not a fan of straws. She sees a lot of similar wrinkle patterns to smokers (obviously dependent on skin type and how often you drink from a straw). I am a profuse water drinker and broke my habit of using a straw at her recommendation. I still use them very occasionally, but wouldn't foster the habit personally. I hear this, but don’t people also make a similar mouth movement by just drinking from a cup? The best thing is probably to mix it up and drink from a variety of types of cups and straws. Problem for me is that I now much prefer a straw. But I’ve looked at myself in the mirror when drinking and my mouth looks the same either way.

Yea, how the hell are you supposed to drink, eat, talk then? seems overly dramatic.

I prefer the metal straws. I bought mine from TJ Maxx or Homegoods. I only use them at home so I’m not worried about an injury while walking. I’m not constantly drinking either, so I’m not worried about wrinkles around my mouth.

I have all but glass. I prefer the plastic ones the most but we do have foldable silicone for if we are out. They come in a great little carrying case.
